Had a dinner on recommendation from Sofitel Metropole (only about 5 min walk away). The atmosphere was nice, not too busy. The staff took the order promptly and with smile.. and then it all went a bit wrong... . The kitchen is in the middle...More

We visited the restaurant with a large party. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The set menu we had was a lovely mix of Vietnamese dishes, which gave us all a taste of Vietnam. The restaurant looks like it’s also a very extensive wine...More

The entrance to the restaurant is the best part. We were in a group of 9 seated in the wine cellar. The food was tasty, the fish, green mango salad and beef in particular were very good. The wine was so over the top expensive...More

Recommended by concierge at Sofitel Legend Metrople hotel. Impressive entrance but quite ordinary inside. However we were given a table near to open kitchen and were impressed by the efficiency and the cleanliness of the kitchen. The food was excellent. I had noodles with seafood...More

Six foodies traveling from California. Based on recommendations chose Club De L'Oriental for big-deal "last night in Hanoi" celebration. Fabulous decor in a ritzy neighborhood. Very disappointed with food. Menu is ambitious, but the kitchen isn't up to it. Tough beef, overcooked Chicken, amateur cocktails,...More

My husband and I choose this restaurant on our first night in Hanoi because it was within walking distance of the hotel. You are seated around the kitchen so you can watch them prepare the food. The food was excellent and not that expensive we...More

Excellent and very tasty food but rather more expensive than most. Only disappointment was that for both starters and main courses the food did not arrive simultaneously for all diners - so some people were only receiving their meals when others had already finished. Disappointing...More

A friend who lives in Hanoi invited us out to Club De L'Oriental. The food was great. We started with soft spring rolls and dried braised squid as appetizers and they were great. Probably the best soft spring rolls I have ever had. We followed...More

Elegant design with high-ceiling Hue Imperial style dinning rooms, Club De L'Oriental is a part of a veritable empire of mostly upscale authentic Vietnamese restaurants. The restaurant is sectioned into several dinning rooms with distinctive features -decidedly romantic and luxurious for intimate dinning for two, or business parties, or big group's celebrations. The charming courtyard and upper balcony sections are ideally preferred on hot Vietnamese summer evenings.
