The owners and their staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Did the Halong bay tour with them and that was excellent value for money with a charming English speaking guide. They booked my ticket to Sa Pa and quite literally put me on the train. They even let me use their restroom to take a shower and change. Really top... More

STOKED! My partner and I arrived to Hanoi with no plans, and fortunately stumbled upon the KC. Being budget conscious is why these guys initially appealed to us, and I'm still in disbelief as to how much we did and saw and travelled and ate at such minimal cost. Through these guys, we had a legendary adventure to Sapa, with... More

Thanks Beth & thanks for your post on our FB page too. The films & pics of your Ha Long bay tour turned out really well. It was such a nice group & mix of people too. Over the years we've had the pleasure of staying in touch with many "genuine posters" like you via Face Book & it's been... More

WOW!! What an amazing holiday we had to Vietnam in Feb/March 2017. Recommended by friends we decided to make our tour plan with Max and Thuy from Griswalds and at everypoint in our journey they went above and beyond!! From the early days of planning where they assembled a 24 day travel plan for us...several drafts to get just what... More

Thanks you two for a wonderful post. We’re very grateful for honest, genuine posters like you two & it’s fascinating how in over 8 years here on Trip Advisor, NOT 1 of our harshest critics, the ones we call the “suspicious posters” has been able to work out how to post on our FB page where we could have both... Unfortunately we started in the South and worked our way up to the North so missed out on Max' s helpful tips. Anyway by the time we got here, we were tired and a bit over communication problems etc so KC turned out to be a little Aussie oasis in a very busy country. Food was spot on. Simple yet... More

Thanks for the Great post "Little Miss Big Boots" & you & your partner were great to spend time with. We're happy to be able to offer a shower to our guests & it saves having to hassle the hotel for one. A leisurely pace with time for a drink before heading to the train station & taking advantage of... More

Anne and I booked our Halong Bay trip through Kangaroo Cafe and had a really memorable three days. We called to the cafe the evening before to deposit one of our suitcases for the duration and were warmly greeted by the staff. We decided to have dinner there which was excellent - fresh food (chicken stir fry and burger) cooked... More

Thanks for your wonderful post Paddy & we’re always keen on a couple of Paddies with me having a Mum (Ina) from Cork. Those reading your post will see a night & day difference compared to the alleged genuine post below yours. Needless to say old mate below hasn’t bothered to post on our FB page & people like that... We decided to go with the Real Kangaroo Cafe tour as it was promised on the website that the tour would be conducted with all its own staff, buses and boat. It claimed that everyone on the tour would be paying the same rather than completely different prices as is the case with other tour providers. This tour was more... More

It’s hard to know where to start with this one. Replying to subjective posts is difficult but it’s made almost impossible they carefully keep the most important parts of their “stories” hidden. People who read this aren’t stupid & they’ll, like us wonder why you some of the most important parts of this story are missing & why you’ve done... More

Dropped in here on arrival as a handy place to get our bearings. Excellent meal and decent cold beer. Subsequently booked a two day Ha Long trip at short notice which they bust a gut to organise and which fully met our expectations at a competitive price. They also looked after some luggage for us whilst we were away with... More

I was originally supposed to take my staff to ciao cafe but they were closed. I remember the kangaroo cafe from a few years back and I wasn't sure if they were still around. I went and they were! I don't read reviews and when I do I read them with objectivity. Here I am revising the food side. (I... More

Thanks for the great post & unlike the posts I ALWAYS complain about, your post was thoughtful, full of detail & even Stevie Wonder can see it’s genuine. Funny you should mention separating the 2 sides of our business as we used to have another page for our tours but TA took it down ??? They ordered us to make... More

We specifically went for this tour organiser because it appeared more trustworthy than other organisers, and we wanted to be sure the trip to Ha Long Bay was going to be good. It was slightly more expensive than the others, but that would be worth it, we thought. At first we were served perfectly, all was going fine. But then... More

It’s hard to take posts like this seriously, it really is. 8 months after supposedly doing one of our tours & it’s one of sketchiest posts I’ve ever read. What tour you went on & some details of who it was with would’ve been nice. Next … what was wrong with the tour & I mean some details, any or... More

After a very long flight a little comfort food can be just the ticket (even in a gastronomic heaven like Vietnam). After a 14 hour flight the Kangaroo Cafe hit the spot for me. Super friendly service with a great home made burger and chips. The cafe also offers substantial travel help and advice though I didn't partake of it.... More

Since 1994, The REAL Kangaroo Cafe (TM) has been providing great food, drinks & reasonably priced tours for singles, couples, families & small groups. At the Real Kangaroo Cafe (TM) we serve Vietnamese, Vegetarian & Western food & all at local prices. Our famous Hamburgers, Mugs (not eye baths) of Tea & Coffee (with real milk too) & the coldest beer in Viet Nam have always proven to be popular with our guests. We come in for some grief here on TA sometimes but you'll notice that it's always from a new breed of tourist, the ones with no cameras. It's a recent phenomena called astroturfing & we wish there was a lot more done to get rid of these fake posters. The best way to tell a fake post is that they're recently joined, post no pics or videos & almost no real info. You'll find our Mob here at the cafe to be fun, helpful & decent too & we really do look forward to meeting you in Ha Noi.
