We heard great things about this place from reviews on Lonely Planet, we were surprised when we arrived at a dingy cafe at the site of the main street. Despite first impressions (looked like the place needed a good clean) we went to try the...More

This was my first time to lay my taste but on such rice dish. So fragrant and tasty. You have other choice of side dish to add on to the rice. Unique dish. Be there early to beat the queue.

We were reviewing this restaurant before our Hanoi trip. To my surprise I don really love the food as it is dry and not tasty at all. Though cheap but I think should eat some place else.

There are no words to describe the texture of this traditional sticky rice topped with succulent, slow cooked pork. Definitely, a meal to sustain you through a day of sightseeing and dodging mopeds as you attempt to cross the street.

We visited this place 2 years ago and the food was delicious. Just came to eat again in January and it was poor. The sticky rice and chicken toppings were flavourless and the service was not as good as it used to be. Wonder what...More

One of the best meals we ate in Hanoi - highly recommend bbq pork and salted egg. Also entertaining watching the slick production line

A friend recommended Xoi Yen and glad we took her advice. Pulled up our tiny little stool and sat on the side walk. Ordered a few dishes that others around us were having, couple of Saigon beers and had a brilliant meat. $4 CAD. Very...More

Not quite. Without the meat accompaniment, you just get rice and egg. It’s not the point of trying Xoi Yen.
