typical cheap prices nice meals with some safe options (things westeners know they will like), some local dishes, and some a bit more experimental.

We came here for the good reviews and the food did not disappoint. Everything was really tasty and lots of choice. Went for a the Khmer vege curry although there are some more exotic things on the menu if you're feeling brave (tarantulas, ants etc). The restaurant also works with disadvantaged youths in the city which is always a positive.

Had an enjoyable dinner here. Lemongrass mojito was delicious and stand out dishes were prawn and pomelo salad, and chicken curry served with fresh crusty bread.

Booked online as reviews say the restaurant gets quite busy. Lucky I did as it did get busy!! With only about 5 waiters on, it was a surprise they could handle it all! Great service, great food. We had the duck spring rolls, the grilled king prawn and the tarantulas!! All dishes were delicious! Even the tarantulas tastes like soft-shelled... More

Went there on high expectations from the many reviews but I was disappointed. The food was at best average and service was kind of slow. Overrated.

The seafood curry and fish amok are both excellent. For a trip on the wild-side go for the fried tarantulas. Romdeng is a touch more expensive, but worth it. The best tables are not in the house, but outside, around the garden.

The staff at our Guesthouse said we had to eat here, so we let them book a table for the first night in Phnom Penh, and in the end we never ate anywhere else, from the Tarantulas through the whole menu we were never disappointed, a delight to say the least. On my travels I recommended this Restaurant to all... More

One of the most renowned restaurants in Phnom Penh, part of the Friends network, offers delicious Cambodian dishes in a very nice environment (there is even a pool that customers can use!). Their bestseller are the deep fried tarantulas: and they're exceptionally good to taste! Don't be scared: it would be a pity going to the Romdeng without trying the... More

Fantastic experience!! We were feeling adventurous and tried the tarantula with black pepper and lime sauce, as well as the Khmer snack platter which had crispy crickets and creamy silk worms. First time trying insects and we were pleasantly surprised. We also had some 'normal' dishes as well, the crispy rice noodle and tofu salad was a standout. The restaurant... More

Description
Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 11pm (kitchen closes 10pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.
