Definitely worth a check out if you are visiting Phnom Penh for the first time. I dared my male colleagues to have the fried tarantulas with me. It was... INTERESTING! We also ordered the beef fried with lemongrass and red ants but I couldn't stomach...More

We went as a group for lunch and the service (by the students) was great. They were enthusiastic and polite and it was lovely. I had eggplant dip and bread and banana fritters with piña colada ice cream. Delicious. And we shopped up a storm...More

We had a group of 12 people so we got to try many dishes, and nothing disappointed. The chicken curry was outstanding, as were the rice pancakes. And yes, if you are adventuresome, try the tarantula!

I understand that this restaurant is staffed by what were originally street children who were taken in by an NGO called "Friends". At the restaurant they are trained for skilled jobs like cooking, waiters/waitresses and other related occupations. The staff are friendly and obviously pleased...More

Seriously one of the best places to eat in Phnom Penh! beautiful food and drinks in an old French colonial building with gardens. I have never been disappointed with the food at Romdeng and it is still cheap to eat at.

Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 11pm (kitchen closes 10pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.
