Being scandinavians, we just couldn't resist going to the famous Scandinavian Bakery in Vientiane. We were homesick for our scandinavian tastes after a couple of months with only asian food and the cinnamon bun and the banana cake tasted like heaven. The prices are not bad compared to the pricelevel in Vientiene. So worth going there and treating yourselves to... More

Tried Scandinavian Bakery early afternoon yesterday on our first visit and ordered iced chocolate (very good), chocolate croissant (very good) and a piece of onion and cheese quiche which was warmed for us (good). The second visit this morning was in two parts - arrived a little after seven but no new choco croissants were available so we had one... More

I wouldn't say the sandwichs were horrible but too saucy & just plain flavour, nothing special. It was very cheap though (29.000kips the big one). The service was fast but not cool and the place is not so beautiful like the main of bakeries & local restaurants in Luang Prabang.

Saw this place listed in Lonely Planet and decided to give it a try. Most of the baked goods looked fairly unappetising except for the cakes. Took a piece and it was truly inedible. Tried to tell the waitress that it was 'no good' but she either wasn't interested or language was to big a barrier. Avoid.

If you miss baked goods, this is the place to be in Vientiane. I'm here the sixth or seventh time because they have just the right temperature, good sandwiches, comfy chairs and a nice loung-y area. If you are a coffee connoisseur, the coffee will be to your liking. It's not outstanding but very well doable. I would rank it... More

Scandinavian Bakery is a very nice place for people who are looking for cheap and good breakfast in Vientiane. Large choices of fresh bread and bakery. Only one remark : the dining room is a bit dirty and need to be clean more often.

As soon as you walk into the place you smell all the baked goods. Their pastries, bread, and sweets all look amazing. I went here for breakfast and had a hearty filling meal. For under $5 USD I got a croissant sandwhich, fruit salad, tea and water. The croissant was to die for. And I've heard nothing but great things... More

Nice for pastries of bread but I've tried to go here lunch and the vegetarian options are zero. Don't even bother. To be honest, if you're after a loaf of bread you can get it from most convenience stores anyway, such as right next to Joma.

Stopped by for a drink and stayed for an excellent lunch. Bread was fresh and had an excellent sandwich. Deserts were good--mhmmm doughnuts!
