When I visited 6 years ago this was my favourite restaurant. Nowadays it's popularity seems to have gone faded as there are much more restaurants available with more extensive menus and at better prices. However it still attracts a crowd of older local regulars... The main ( or only) reason still to visit is the excellent grilled Mekong river fish... More

I came to this restaurant after reading the positive reviews yesterday (6-22-2015)... I was not impressed. Not only was I not impressed, I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. The building was good looking and the table settings pre-framed me to expect a good-quality and some-what upscale meal. I leafed through the menu and it all looked... More

Great place for travelers to enjoy fantastic Laotian food. If you dont speak the language there is the ever helpful picture menu. Must try are Sai Oua, Pak Som and Grilled Fish. Beware Grill Fish is a bit expensive (compared to other dishes) but worth it as it the meat tender and very flavorsome. The atmosphere is more homely (average)... More

On the advice of a friend who speaks Laos and knows the food intimately, we tried this restaurant. Service was surprisingly good. This is a typical restaurant shop-house like I'd see in Thailand, which is to say, nothing special, run down etc but that's not why you come here. Food was excellent! The dried beef was amazing, the Lao sausage... More

Had a get together with some old Lao friends. 7 of us in the party and the bill came to US$120. The food was normal Lao food with sticky rice, nothing special. We also drank 5 bottles of Beer Lao in total which is a very cheap beer. Won't be going back again.

Based on comments from other reviewers four of us had lunch at Nangkhambang. The Laos sausage was lovely, the grilled fish was excellent with a vegetable dish that was quite acceptable. We ordered pickled lettuce which was too salty for me. This meal was washed down with beerlao which was reasonably priced. The consensus of our party was that the... More

Don’t get caught in one of the tourist trap restaurants such as Nangkhambang Lao which seems dedicated scamming to inexperienced farangs by offering banal, tasteless food at high prices. Just beside the Salana is an open air BBQ area where several restaurants compete, offering delicious BBQ fish ,pork ,chicken, squid, beef ,etc as well as Som Tam ,Tam Taeng ,etc... More

Very good Lao cousine. Rare dishes like fried frog skin, roasted buffalo tongues etc. GPS coordinates: 17*57'55'' N 102*36'5'' E. You don't have Lao cousine on your list!
