We stayed right in front of the night market and ate there twice. The first night we had a fabulous (though small) BBQ duck and whole fish. With 2 large bottles of beer and 2 soda waters it cost aus$20. The second night we tried another stall and again had duck, a full one this time, BBQ pork ribs and... More

Checking the products, eating some local snacks, enjoying the atmosphere... the night market is getting better every year. There are now many goods from Thailand and China. The quality is bad and the price is high. But it is still interesting having a look around.

The street food stalls along the road were OK and many, the open-air restaurant in the market itself was expensive. Nothing to get excited about.

These are food stalls at the night market selling grilled meats, cooked dishes, desserts, fruits and drinks. Quite a big selection but we had already had our dinner. Bought some mangoes and sticky rice to take away.

Not just food but everything you can imagine was for sale here. Lively, fun and well worth a visit (or two) if you are in Vientiane!

Limited number of stalls with part cooked food for locals to take home and cook. No where to eat. Not for tourists unless you are self catered.

Strolled around here last night and admit I was not expecting a lot. Best sight is the sunset and the mass airobics sessions going on. Stopped for fresh Mango and was surprised they were at least 25% more expensive than Thailand and then even further surprised when we were charged 10 THB to use the toilet block (not that clean)...
