if you look for the Stupa Cafe run by the Buddhist organization you will find out that it is not existing anymore. unfortunately the new management of the organization had decided last year to give the space for rent to another organization. all that remains...More

A nice quiet place across from the Zanabazar Fine Arts Museum. It wasn't busy when I was there at about 1.30pm on a week day (August 2013). Penne dish was satisfying and quite tasty and together with an iced tea only came to 5,500 MNT...More

it is a quite place. I usually see people come alone to study, read or work on laptop or in a company of one or two. You can have vegetarian "khuushuur" there.

Good value for money. Nothing fancy, just simple vegetarian dish. It's inside the meditation center so it also serves good cause I guess. Definitely try the carrot cake, one of the best I have ever had !

Ulaanbaatar is a city with no redeeming value whatsoever in our mind. The air is more dangerously polluted than in Cairo or Calcutta. Vegetables in the months of September and October consist of Carrots, Potatoes, Cabbages, Onions. Most of the city has never heard of...More

This place is right across from the Zanabazar fine art museum and serves decent, if somewhat unexciting vegetarian cuisine. It is located inside a Buddhist meditation center. It's a pleasant, cheap, and filling place to stop for some lunch and WiFi, especially good if you're...More

I visited last week and had the Nepalese daal and a vegeterian khuushuur. I've visited Nepal and was quite impressed with what Nepalese in remote villages could do with such simple ingredients. At Stupa, the daal was a small boring cup of lentil soup. The...More

They serve all vegetarian here. Good value for money but need to choose dishes carefully. I tried the Greek salad and was vey disappointed. The lettuce was old and limp with not much else. Their borscht though, is very good.

For a basic vegetarian fare, this place fits the bill. Nothing fancy but good prices and reasonable size portions. The vegggie khuushuur was a bit greasy but very tasty and filling and the borsch would have been ample on its own.

It's a very peaceful small place. And it's good place for vegetarians. The service isn't good. By the way, there's some great book renting.
