For being an almost full time vegetarian, I did enjoy the köfte at this place. Don't miss this place while strolling around in Sultanhamet. I ate their twice and the place was super busy both times, while the restaurants around were quite empty.
Food was not as delicious as I expected. Service was better even the restaurant was packed. If I am not mistaken, they put service charge which is not common in Turkey.
This place was recommended to us by a Turkish lady Sinem, who lives in Belgium and runs Unico, a great place in Brussels. Simple interior but clean and most important good and honest Turkish food which is also confirmed by the many Turkish customers.
I tried this restaurant for the first time less than a year ago, and it was my first thing in Istanbul this time, it is amazing authentic place no one should miss when vising Sultanahmet district.
Sultanahmet Koftecisi has a reputation with his superior quality meatballs and "piyaz". Is't nice for lunch and dinner. Quick service and cheap. Don't forget to order an "ayran" too.
