Vibrant atmosphere, good service, good wine and good food (lamb chops were amazing and good choice of mezes). On the expensive side but very good dining experience.

Excellent small restaurant across Pera Palace hotel and Soho House. Nice atmosphere, white tableclothes, excellent mezes. This was our best meal in Istanbul. It is a bit more expensive than the standard meyhanes, but worth it. I recommend a reservation on Fridays and Saturdays.

The taste of the cold "small" starters is a very pleasant journey through the Mediterranean cuisine, with a touch of herbs, normally rather used in Asian cooking. The warm starters continue the journey of enjoyable cross over cooking. The 150 Lira menu for two persons is great. With a drink or two each, one can budget Euro 25-30 per person,... More

The experience I had at this little gem will remain with me for ever. This restaurant is small but friendly, the staff is caring and nothing is too much for them to please the customers. The owner is on site for ensuring that little details in the service are as important as the meal itself. We were shown and the... More

Really enjoyed dinner here. Great range of meze dishes, all of them interesting and packed with flavour. Service was good. You do feel a bit cramped in the restaurant though as the tables are very close together.

This quint restaurant sits just opposite the Historical Jumeirah Hotel in the heart of Istanbul. Turkey is known for its rich cuisine, spending an evening at The Meze by lemon Tree was just an awesome experience. We started with what we in Britain would call as starters and Spain as Tapas but Meze (I believe) in Turkey. Each dish exuded... More

I have been few times to this place. Everytime I went back it was a bit less quality. The Food used to be good but now they are trying way to hard to make it interesting that it leads to really weird food. The staff is attentive indeed - perhaps a bit too much as we could not have a... More

We had the 200 TRY menu for two with a choice of five cold meze dishes, a shared warm starter and a choice of main course and shared desert. All were outstanding.

It is more popular among tourists rather than the locals and it may seem as a tourist trap but I assure you it is not. This restaurant offers you one of the most unique experiences in Istanbul. Their mezes are not the type you can find everywhere. In fact you can not find the same meze when you come back... More

The location is very good. Mind when you are looking for the restaurant, is so small you may miss it. The dishes were very good and the service as well. Try the smoked obergine, the tabule and the avocado salat. It is better if you get a variety of meze instead of main dishes. This way you can taste almost... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
