i went to this restaurant many times, it seams that when the restaurant is crowded they are more responsive and serve you fast. last time i was there there were only 2 tables that had customers. i asked for the shish kabab and a salad, you can feel the waiter looking at you funny and when he left my table... We stopped here for dinner after hitting the major tourist attractions nearby and were delighted we did. They're the equivalent of a classic diner here in the US. They do only a few dishes, but they do them very well. Even before we began eating, we knew we had made the right decision stopping in here because it was one... More

The blocks surrounding the Hippodrome (and near Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque) teem with souvenir shops, baklava stores and touristy cafes, but this spot is a welcome exception to the rule that location is all that matters. Accompanied by a healthy mound of grated carrots and lettuce and four long, porcini-like pickled peppers, our kofte (grilled cylinders of ground... More

My boyfriend recommended this restaurant so we ate here together and I must say their Köfte is really good. The food is simple but worth a try. You should definitely order their hot sauce - it goes very well with the meat.

Ate here with a couple friends, the food was decent but definitely not the best for the price. On top of that they added a 10% service charge which was hidden in small print on the back of the menu.

it is in a very touristy area but jam packed with locals, which is always a good sign. We had the kofte meatballs with salad and spicy sauce, buttermilk and bread, it was very, very tasty and a great experience. Not a place to sit and relax for a while after eating, it is very busy and they do expect... More

One of three köfte cafes on Divsn Yolu. Inexpensive meat kebabs and salads, served with a spicy tomato sauce. Perfect lunch stop after a morning visit to Aya Sofya and/or the Blue Mosque. Average quality. I've been told Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi is better, though I did not confirm it myself.

Our personal tour guide took us to this restaurant and we were very pleased. Apparently this is a favorite place with the locals, which is always a good sign of great food. You order your food from the buffet style counter and the server brings it to your table and takes your drink order. Awesome tasting food. Servers speak English... More

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
