This is small establishment serving local food. It may not look like a restaurant for tourists, but definitely offers good and tasty food; home made dishes, kofte and other meat alternatives... Definitely recommend!

If you like to taste local food other than kebap&doner, you definitely visit this tiny restaurant. You'll also experience friendly service 😊

We went there around 2pm, their lamb stew was finished, but the lovely chef came out, told us he will prepare something for us, we ended up having lamb chops, beef kofta, with Turkish rice, mashed potatoes for the kids, mixed salad and a delicious butter bean soup. Wonderful hospitality, simple but good quality food. It is a tiny place,... More

Casual cafe. We had the beef kabob with potatoes, also stuffed cabbage rolls. Tasted great, good prices, and friendly service. Everyone was happy with the lunch. Just up the street from the gate 1 entrance.

If you like Turkish food and would like to try Turkish hospitality at its best, try Bursa Gul. I've been going for more than 10 years and my family and I are never disappointed! I kept making excuses to go back to the Grand Bazaar around lunchtime so we could eat here again. It's a clean, simple place that's an obvious favorite of the locals for a quick lunch. We picked our foods by seeing what was on in the kitchen. The chef and staff were extremely warm and happily played along with my... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
