We went Yeni Lokanta for a dinner with friends. Interior design, the lights and general atmosphere is quite like good European restaurants. Staff is very proffessional and quite helpful. They were quite helpful to foreign visitors and their service and explanations of each food was very nice to hear. Food is traditional Turkish plates that are served in a modern way. In general, I am pleasantly suprised with the taste and the modern execution. However, maybe I love the traditional way of some food, on some orders I thouht they tried too hard. The pricing is above average compared to other same class restaurants but also not one of the most expensive ones a you can visit in Istanbul. In short, I recommend this restaurant if you are a tourist and trying the Turkish food for the first time (10/10). If you are a Turkish person, the restaurant is still great and suprise you with their modern interpretation of the foods. (8/10)

Yeni Lokanta on Tomtom, Kumbaracı St. was one of the places that got us excited. The location, ambiance, menu and service are both well-designed and successful in practice. My first negative criticism of the place will be about the prices: it's high for this restaurant and experience in my opinion. Since the tasting menu (525₺) was both risky and expensive, we headed for the à la carte. We decided to start with Grilled Aubergines, Artvin Gorcola, Mistel Wine (94₺) and Izmir Tulum, Macahel Chestnut Honey, Sauteed Chard, Kastamonu Pastrami (87₺). Both were good starters and well designed mix of materials. We continued with “Islama” Beef Ribs (168₺) and Grilled Octopus (225₺) as main courses. “Islama” Beef Ribs may be the best meat I've had in 2021. Just perfect! On the other hand, Octopus was the dish that disappointed us the most, both in terms of its degree of cooking and its price. The yoghurt sauce of Dumplings with Antakya Yoghurt, which is served as amuse bouce, more delicious than the most assertive soup. I recommend that they can serve this liquid as a soup without dumplings.

Second visit in 4 days and again it’s super food. First time lamb shank and this time the sea bass as main course. Both absolutely delicious, tasty and really well prepared and presented Starters were the baked beetroot and today Ōcce which was deep fried veggie balls with a spicy sorbet on top, special but really intriguing taste Service is quick, nice and friendly Go, I am sure you will enjoy

I was recommended this restaurant on a recent trip to Istanbul so I decided to give it a try... Huge disappointment! We paid over 140 euros for dinner for two and it was really not worth it. I do not mind spending money in a good restaurant, but I found VERY hard to justify this level of price for a mid-level restaurant with average food. The service was acceptable, but not remarkable either. On the night we were, there there were absolutely no locals, only tourists, which should already have given me the hint that it was a tourist trap. I would certainly avoid this place. There are plenty of interesting restaurants in the area to choose from. Never again!

We were excited for the first dinner with our visiting son. Yeni came highly recommended, and it certainly is a great restaurant. It just took a while for the service to warm up to us! Arriving just a few minutes before our reservation, there was an initial confusion whether we were a party of three or four (the table had been set for four). Easily fixed. But when we were asked if we wanted a cocktail, or wine, and I said maybe the tasting menu, that seemed to set off a chain reaction that was hard to stop. It turned out that my wife's idea was to try Yeni's tasting menu on another occasion, not this night. But when she conveyed this message to me it was hard to get the sommelier's attention (this is where the feeling we were on the side of a road came in, as wait staff kept whizzing by and getting their attention was not possible). When the sommelier returned with "bottle 1" for the wine pairing, and we said we now wanted to order a la carte, he audibly exhaled, even as we apologized. And then it took him while before we were passed the menu to consider for la carte selections. I just got the sense by the abruptness and the audible sigh that we were somehow being punished for our fleeting indecision or indecisiveness. The sommelier did gradually warm up to us. His wine recommendations were good (though, again, I felt as though I disappointed him when I rebuffed his recommendation for a $100 bottle of wine.) But the quality of the food was excellent. Yeni is a busy restaurant, with a lot of hustling and bustling. Reservations essential. There is no view. It is dark, and not really in a romantic way. Our table was next to the door, and so literally facing out onto the street.

We did really enjoy our meal here, with inventive Turkish cuisine. The staff were helpful with storing our luggage and responsive with address requests etc via email. Our biggest problem was just in the pricing of the restaurant. We had 4 tasting menus and one bottle of wine and this was more expensive (by quite a lot) than eating a tasting menu at a Michelin restaurant in France. The setting and service is too casual to command these prices.

We took a tasting menu. The first one had a sauce which had obviously over cooked with a burned taste. The following dishes were well presented but the ingredient matches were not savoureux : too much acidic, bitter. The lamb kebab was Too burned and not well cooked inside. The dessert were too sweet, the ice cream was so sweet that it was impossible to guess the flavor. Service was fast but not friendly.

This was my second visit here and was more impressive than the first one. While Chef is creating wonders at the back, Hakan Bey is taking you to a culinary journey through Anatolia with his wine and food knowledge. Best fine dining can sound too ambitious considering a city around 20 million people. However concept is quite new in Turkey compared to Europe and this is my experience. Yeni Lokanta is definitely the place I will visit again and again in future. Hope I am getting the names right. Special thanks to Chef Mustafa and the restaurant manager Uğur Bey.

This spot is great for a special night out. We were a party of six and the restaurant allowed five of us to select the 7 course tasting menu, and one person to order a la carte as they weren't feeling very well. The tasting menu was unique and tasty -- not a budget meal, but on par with other high end restaurant tasting menus. The staff was exceptional, very attentive, timely and friendly. And the gave our sixth family member who ordered a la carte a free portion of the appetizer and dessert that came from the tasting menu.

Very good traditional starters. Overall, the food quality was impressive. Service was on the point! Neither the meal was interrupted by long conversations, nor a cold atmosphere was created with insincere and cold behaviors. The waiter was quite knowledgeable about Yeni's food! He was able to answer our questions. 10/10 Unfortunately, it is difficult to write similar review about the sommelier. He made a few simple mistakes in a few minutes. Sad that he did not master simple facts to get the job at such a high-end restaurant. Yeni's wine menu is okay. Good selection. A few non-local wines could play a role... Considering today's Turkish wine world, this stubbornness about local wine makes not always sense. It indeed spoils the experience at such high-end restaurants like Yeni Lokanta, unfortunately. With a few good sparklings and impressive white wines, the wine menu could be dreamy! The food must be accompanied by good wine to support it.

Went to Yeni with a friend on our trip to Turkey in April. We went to several great restaurants while on Istanbul (Mikla, Aheste, etc), but Yeni was hands down the best food we had there. We got the tasting menu, and loved every single dish (though the dumplings were a stand out favorite!). Not only was the food great but the service was equally fantastic. I wish I could remember our server's name, but he really went above and beyond. After we raved about the dumplings, he brought us a couple more, on the house. He swapped out one of the tasting menu wines for us, when we mentioned we didn't like sweet wines (all the wines we had were also truly wonderful, btw). The place was packed all night, and they kept having to turn people away at the door, so once we had finished our meal, but were still finishing our wine and having coffee, we mentioned to our server that we didn't mind getting the check and finishing up quickly so he could turn over our table. He told us it wasn't necessary, but we insisted, so he suggested instead that we finish our wine and coffee out on one of the lovely cushioned benches in front of the restaurant. It was a beautiful night, so this seemed like a great idea. Far from forgetting about us out there, he checked in with us periodically, and even topped off our wines and coffees on the house while we were out there. Seriously great food, great wine, and great service. A must go in Istanbul!

Fabulous restaurant - the food was outstanding and the professional staff were knowledgeable and able to describe each dish in detail. The restaurant is decorated in a warm and inviting way making you feel relaxed and comfortable. My friends and I thought the food was the most delicious we had tasted in Turkey and the recommended wine could not be faulted. Highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable evening. I am hard to impress and this place I really rate. My 12 yr old son had the beef which was "the best meat he has ever tasted!". I had the Lamb neck special from the chef that day in place of Lamb shank. Starters also excellent. Sommelier provided the perfect wines by glass for both courses.

Every dish has been perfected by the chef and we are so happy we came here for dinner during our short time in Istanbul to try the amazing flavours. We had the tartar, goat cheese and beef short ribs - all unique and so well prepared. Thank you for a memorable dinner.

We had three top restaurants experience during our four nights visit in Istanbul. This we went for two times because it was by far the best. We had the tasting menu both times. They changed and added different dishes for us. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Inventive take on Turkish dishes. A perfect blend of savory, sweetness, acidity and spices. Like the cig kofte (beef tartare) served with a deep fired wheat ball filled with raw egg yolk inside. It was simply the best beef tartare we've tasted. We welcomed every dish because of the mouth watering flavor and acidity. The server was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive about how the dishes were prepared, the ingredients, and their list of Turkish wines. Ask for their recommendations and you will be pleasantly surprised by the world class Turkish wines.

Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
