It is a very famous restaurant or lokanta as we say in Turkey. It is well loacted in Uskudar. They serve good food but I reckon its prices are a bit more than what it should be. but would recommend this place, it wont let you down.

Kanaat Lokantasi is Home style Turkish cooking. Dishes are very tasty. My favorite Turkish dessert is Sekerpare & Kadayif. Ice cream is also specialty of the restaurant & very delicious. The restaurant is the best restaurant in Uskudar.

Nothing extravagant about this eating place......average taste..So so services....pricey...If u are in Kadikoy I would suggest that u explore eating places like the famed Iskender Kebapci, Halil Lamacun or Kadikoy Tantuni

Worst restaurant in Uskudar and the worst in Istanbul the food very nasty and it was cooked before 2 days or more . Also very very expensive and the waiter was very angry because we checked the bill before we paid. I dont recommend at all

This is one of the few restaurants left in İstanbul that offers a wide selection of the typical local food in good quality. It has three main sections :warm dishes mainly with meat and vegetables, cold dishes made with olive oil and the best desert selection with milk deserts such as sütlaç and summer-only ice cream topping the bill. Their... More

I have eaten in Kanaat Lokantasi several times since 1992. They have an incredible selection of good Turkish cuisine. People who think Turkish cuisine is made of kebabs will be positively surprised here. Warm dishes, cold olive oil dishes and mezes and an incredible selection of desserts are waiting to be discovered. My only criticism is that it became a... More

So many choices of hot, cold dishes and desserts. We had ciğer dolma ( small pieces of liver cooked and mixed with spicy pilav and stuffed in thin layer of pastry), çoban kavurma ( cubes of veal meat, tomatoes and green pepper fried and cooked together), artichokes in olive oil and yoğurt. All were delicious.

Staying in Uskudar

Neighbourhood Profile
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
