If you enjoy from dessert especially " baklava" "karakoy gulluoglu" is the right address for you. There are many kind of baklava at therewhich can be appropriate for your own taste. Baklava for diabetic or gluten free or less sweety "sütlü nuriye" which is my favorite one. I prefered one portion portion"sütlü nuriye" obviously together with Turkis coffe and glass of tea. Total cost 5 €(30 Tl) whish is fair enough. Self service makes difficulty for you for order but after you paid money it is so easy to get what you want to eat or drink.

we ordered some baklava and su boregi and everything came so fresh and delicious, absolutely reorder soon from Karakoy Gulluoglu. Customer service is excellent, very fast shipping is a plus. After tasting their crispy and rich pastries and desserts, you will not be able to eat any other ordinary desserts. Highly and strongly recommended.

This place is definitely a must when visiting Istanbul because it offers a great variety of delicious and traditional Turkish baklava. They also offer packing boxes so you can take as much as you want back home. Try a chocolate one, you won't regret! :)

We have visited the old place a couple of times & were pretty underwhelmed but decided to check out the new building. The building is really stunning with interesting architecture & very tasteful decor & retro design & furniture. The staff even have smart green jumpers to go with the beige trousers, which match the overall feel of the place. The system seems to have changed so instead of paying first & collecting the dishes, you join a queue to pick what you want from the staff & pay later. We had a plate of mixed baklava and a slice of a pistachio one. The baklava were quite soggy rather than crisp (other than the one that looks like a shell) & very buttery. Our fave was the one which was packed with nuts. The pistachio slice was OK. The place was very busy but the first floor was quiet, so we are glad we escaped the peak madness. We spotted another branch not far away but it looked really dated & depressing so it's no wonder people flock to the main location. Overall, we left still underwhelmed by the offerings & have had better baklava in Manchester! Loved the building though!

I was brought here first by turkish friend claiming this is the best baklava in Istanbul. The price of a singe portion is more expensive than restoran meal, but surprisingly whenever I pass by, it is full. To sum up, baklava was pure heaven even though I don't enjoy eating too much sugary sweets withouth ice cream. Will come back!

Very famous baklava maker in istanbul. Very good taste but a bit sweet. My favourites is the one with milk baklava (sütlü baklava). Other than sweet, they also serve some pastry like su börek, they also taste good. You can eat in-shop, but always crowded. Or take out, which they pack than very good, I even bring on plane.

Well, we have discovered that there's ok baklava and there's fantastic baklava - the latter being that of Karakoy Gulluoglu. Arriving for the first time at the cafe/shop it's a little overwhelming, both in terms of number of people and working out how to order. First step is to grab a pamphlet, work out what you want, pay at the till and then go to a service counter where they will give you your order. Fyi, they offer pistachio baklava and walnut baklava as well as gluten free and vegan options. In case it's of help, it's here that they also do beautifully presented boxes of baklava. Ideal as presents - though note that they should be eaten within 10 days. Indeed I'm shortly off there again to take several boxes with me to France! Cannot recommend highly enough. PS. When I first came to Turkiye, I had assumed that I would be able to buy Gulluoglu at Istanbul airport. I was wrong - so be forewarned.

The crowds of both locals and tourists make Güllüoğlu Karaköy (Kemankeş Cad. Katlı Otopark Altı No: 3-4 – rear entrance facing the cruise ship pier) difficult to miss and while it looks fairly nondescript from the outside, the interior offers some of the world’s finest deserts in all their splendor and variety and is heaven for those with a sweet tooth as counters filled with dozens of baklava varieties made with fıstıklı (pistachio) and cevizli (walnut) line all four sides of the store. Just pay at the cashier for your desert and then have it filled by the smartly dressed servers behind the counters. Currently (Oct. 2023), the pastries are bargain priced at the equivalent of less than a US dollar each.

I visited this baklava shop 3 times during my visit in Istanbul. I prefer this shop compared to Hafiz mustafa. HM was also good, but my taste bud like Karakoy better. Price wise was alright. I had the chance to packed about 12 boxes to bring back to my hometown and they packed it nicely in airtight plastic. The taste is superb. I had a chance to try the cold baklava, it was so yummy. Ice cream baklava also was so refreshing and tasty. The other baklava such as Kadayif and tu lumba was also delicious. I was happy everytime I left this sweet shop. Thank you!

We got a taxi to come here from our hotel in Sultanahmet just to come here. I saw it on the internet as the best baklava place in Istanbul so I thought why not as me and my family love baklava. When we arrived there were no signs in English ,such as prices, where to pay?, where tea was? We struggled to find a employee who spoke good English. We finally found someone and ordered baklava. Baklava and tea for me and my wife and ice cream for the kids. Was very busy but we found a table. Baklava was nice but not how everyone said it was the best in Istanbul. They need to train their employees on how to give good customer service especially to foreign tourists and clear signs/ labels in English.

The dessert assortment is a feast for the eyes. The large shop has ample tables inside and out, weather-permitting. All tourists here except for the local tour guides. We tried Baklavas all over Istanbul, prices ranged Per Kilo of Baklava from around 900Lira to 200Lira. Excellent marketing and social media had catapulted this brand into the limelight. Personally, I found it cloyingly sweet and kinda wet, a week's sugar limit for diabetics, haha. Seriously though, a bakery/patisserie, with real bakers and ovens, can make very good baklava that's a quarter or half the price.

I know I know. This is supposed to be the best baklava in Istanbul. My father brought me here when I was a child. Since then I’ve visited numerous times and bought I don’t know how many packets as gifts. Relocated to a new spot due to renovation works in Karakoy, the crowds still flock in. While eating my portion of pistachio baklava today, I couldn’t help but think: ‘this is good, but not exceptional or very special’. Baklava you buy in many other places in Istanbul, cheaper of course, taste just as good…

No matter what they say? Whether you like it or not! @karakoygulluoglu is one of the three brands that do this work in top level with this scale and sustainability. It should be appreciated that it maintains the material quality and never lowers the standard. Huh, is it my favourite? -No, but they're one of the best. They moved 300 meters from their place under the car park in Karaköy. Since there is no "U" shaped flow like the old place, there will be problems in enterance and exit on crowded tourism days. Let's talk about our favorites and their prices: Baklava with Pistachio (₺480/kg), Dry Baklava (₺510/kg). More or less ₺15-18 each. Another admirable job is to produce Gluten Free Baklava. Those who do not have Gluten Allergy cannot understand its value!

After a dinner at Karaköy (usually at the 'Olimpyat') I take friends or family for dessert to the Güllüoglu in a rather ugly modern building at the back. Baklava, one of the best known oriental sweets, has been consistently excellent here and the place is quite famous. Even in Athens I once happened near Syntagma Square to pass by a 'Karaköy Güllüoglu' baklava shop. There is a counter for take-away and one for sit in orders, but it was so incredibly crowded on this August evening - with to a great part people from Arab countries - that it was not much fun to eat in here, although we had ordered for each of us a plate of different baklava, which were naturally good.

Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
