This was better than expected. You enter by going downstairs and enter into a den of Armenian history and culture. The menu is varied and the food is plentiful and good. They sell are good variety of alcohol and is just a good place to have a meal. Prices are about average for Jerusalem and won't break the bank -... More

Simple, lovely and friendly place offers Armenian dishes. Basturma and dolma. Good lamb courses. Large portions. Good wine. Nice atmosphere.

In jerusalem you feel like visiting many countries and learning a lot about a mixed culture and communities. The Armenians who settled in jerusalem excelled in professions related to art and this is just one of stuff they are perfect at. They produce items of art where you want to buy all not knowing which fits your home best. I... More

Straight forward menu with a slightly Russian touch. Very friendly and a bit of an experience. Rough atmosphere without finesse, but welcoming and rich portions.

On the recommendation of an Armenian Shop Keeper that I have known for 10+ years we visited the Armenian Tavern for an early dinner. We we rewarded with very helpful service and the food was delicious. We asked and ordered the recommendation of the waiter and could have mot been more pleasez. Will return the next time in Old City.

This was one of two restaraunts that we truly enjoyed in the old city. We had Humus to start. Lamb Ribs and a Meat dish as a main course Both were tasty. I wish I kept a menu to tell you exactly what the dishes were. I started the meal with a shot of Ararat (Armenian Cognac/Brandy) A brand not... More

I fell in love with the Armenian Tavern in Jerusalem. It was an experience from the moment we walked through the door. It was a hot day in Old Town and we were looking for a place to rejuvenate . The second we walked in I knew this was the perfect choice. The decorations are stunning and the staff were... More

We always have a meal at this café when we are visiting old Jerusalem. To get there you have to go through Jaffa gates and turn right. It is placed opposite to the Police station entry in old cellar where Armenian quarter starts. They have typical Armenian cuisine dishes such as basturma, sujuk and dolma. This time we found that... Really good food, clean and comfortable. We were on a high end tour so we trusted Seabourn's selection. Our food was included in our tour price, but I glanced at the menu and felt that for the quality, quantity, and cleanliness, the restaurant is a great value. The local wine was especially tasty. The meal was served at long community... More

After many hours of walking and wonderment in this fascinating city the Tavern was like a refuge from the crowds. We were soon invaded by a number of tour groups but the standard of service and quality of food was maintained to a high standard in this well run establishment.
