This place is quiet, if anything in the Old City can be said to be. Fresh juices (try the pomegranate!) squeezed then and there, were my husband's favorite, and I loved the coffee!

Were the cookies I purchased good?...yes, this is why I will not give them one star when I am leaning toward wanting to. Beyond the extreme disrespect that occurred the price for the cookies was far too much. There are numerous institutions that one can purchase the same quality baked goods for far less the cost. I paid the US... More

We tried some Arabic pastries which are very tasty but really overpriced (50 shekels for 4 small pieces of local pastries). We know that we are tourists but it is not a reason why.

It offers all kinds of bread, sweets and teas... A very pleasant man greets you as you enter through the glass doors.. The place is quaint and very cozy. Upstairs it's a sitting area with very comfortable seating area to zip your tea and taste the delicious sweets. It's a must stop in a buzzing part of the old city..... More

Agree with the other reviewers. Long day in the Old City. Hungry. And this bakery stood out for its modern glass storefront, clean interior, and delectable looking baked goods. As a bonus it was air conditioned.

I usually do not write a lot of reviews. But due to the fact that it was a terrific experience for us, I decided to do so. My reasoning behind it: This is by far the prettiest café and chill-out lounge I have been to in my recent Jerusalem / Tel-Aviv Business Trip (and in my recent years). Hidden in... More

After an exhausting day touring Jerusalem, we were walking through the bazaar and noticed this standout bakery. We walked into an incredible old building with gorgeous decor (and air conditioning). We ordered delicious coffee and bought a sampling of pastries, and then headed upstairs to the beautifully decorated alcove with couches. Two of our seven promptly feel asleep on the... More

I found Shawar totally accidentally in December 2011 during my first visit to Jerusalem. Me and my Mum were walking from the Church of Holy Sepulture through the busy old part of the Christian Quarter and found a lovely tea/coffee room hidden in a wall of an ancient building. It was a pleasure to return there again last week. It... More
