The dishes looked great and most of them really tasted as beautiful as they looked. All besides the fish that was a bit undercooked

We were a family of 8 (3 generations) or lunch and everyone found something on the menu that they enjoyed. We were having a celebration so the desserts came with candles. Food is very well prepared. Portions are a good size. Ambience is outdoors when its sunny and indoors when its cold, both are very pleasant. Will definitely come again... More

Derech Hagefen restaurant is nestled in a beautiful setting, 15 minutes north of Jerusalem. We had pumpkin, ginger and sweet potato souls which was excellent. We also had fishballs and a fillet of Corvina fish (Mussar Yam in Hebrew) - both were fantastic. Service was attentive and very pleasant. Recommended!

this restaurant, ( sister to Itamar cafe at Moshav Ora near Jerusalem), is one of the most beautiful garden cafes i know. with many seating areas both in and outside, each corner is a delight. Recent tasteful renovations have also improved the resistance to rain. the menu is interesting, with several choices that seem more creative than your standard dairy... More

Shared a lovely dinner with old friends during a vusor to Israel in May. Food was very good. We were there on a Saturday night. Be sure to make reservations. They have both English and Hebrew menus. I needed the English menu but my friends did not. I loved the hot chocolate which was a huge chunk of Belgian chocolate... More

Derech Hagefen is good for a variety of occasions, whether it's a family and friends gathering or a romantic dinner. The courtyard is quiet and beautiful with a little pond and all sorts of plants and the ambience is very relaxed. I've tried several dishes here and always found them to be tasty and creative, without being to elaborate. The... More

As usual we enjoyed the tasty dishes especially the safron risoto. This is one of most accessible restaurants close to jerusalem : parking, accessible toilet and surrounded with a beautiful garden.

This place is popular and gets excellent reviews. I can't understand why. Even though they define themselves as "Chef's Restaurant", their food is mediocre at best. They often lack parts of the menu (eg. pastries in the morning). The waiters are sympathetic and usually quick and effective, but the managers tend to talk loudly, sometimes conducting long cell phone conversations... More
