We walked around Jaffa on Shabat trying to find an authentic place. We looked in through the windows and it looked good and tasty... however.. the place is a bit disappointing compared to what other restaurants TLV has to offer. The meat was ok, but the salads/mezze were far from convincing, the bread was hard within 2 minutes of arrival...... More

This place is not more then OK. Looking at the line of people, waiting to get inside I was expecting the most amazing place but it was not better then any other restaurant I've visited.

We had heard about this place and it did not disappoint... Right at the clock tower, for convenience, and reasonable parking in the streets is available. We were a couple and ordered the Balaji Eggplant salad and the veal and lamb kebabs, they were both delicious. Some warm arabic bread to go with the order and the food was ore... More

We were with four and ordered 4 main dished besides the shared starter with all kinds of dips and veggies. It was all very tasty with superfast and friendly service and we were served very large dishes so it was a bit of a challenge to finish all that delicous food.

I can recomende the fresh unique salads. The first courses looked tasty. We got 2 hot lafa coming from the taboon. The meat was medium quality to much cinnamon in my chiken stuffed leg. The rice and the potatos was almost uneatable. The service was good. A mixed experince.

Apart from the suggestive location in the old Jaffa, this is the restaurant proposing the best typical food I tasted in Tel Aviv. Vegetable-based starters and humus are excellent and particular. I will dream the slowly coocked lamb filled with rice: fantastic!

We had a large group dinner here in March and pre-ordered their special lamb shoulder, which requires 6-7 hours of cooking. The lamb was fabulous and all of the salads and other entrees were lovely. The service was good - though we did have to ask for water a few times - but otherwise everyone was very helpful and friendly.

I went here with my wife and some friends and we all thought the food was really excellent. Our lamb shoulder served on a platter for four people was the best we have ever eaten and the starters were all delicious. The pitta bread too was exceptionally good. There is no alcohol served here but this didn't bother us

The best arabic food in Tel Aviv area and one of the best in the country. Traditional but refined, popular but sophisticated in it's one way. By the weekend ther's a queue, but the place is big. Try the special seasonal salads, and one of the stuffed meat dishes . don't order much meat in advance, the portions are huge and you'll be prety full after the first course. Prices are moderate.
