Somehow, every tourist have to visit this place, they should stop going there! You sit on a chair that is about to get broken, the tea cup you get has hand fingerprints on them from the 100 person who drank in it before you, everything...More

This family run restaurant has been open 24 hours since the 1950's. It's super cheap, 3 diners or about $4 AUD for a set meal including a drink. Hummus is amazing All walk of life eat here, from the Jordan royal family, to the local...More

This was recommended to us by a local; about a 10 minute taxi ride from our hotel. The food was superb - hummus, falafel, etc - and the price was incredible! Three full-grown guys at for 6.50 dinar (about 7 or 8 euro) - wow!...More

This place seems to have been in guidebooks too long. Staff try and rip tourists off pretty brazenly - they tried to charge me 1 JD for a tea (which in Jordan is similar to trying to charge for oxygen) and 2 JD for a...More

Great food and great service in downtown Amman. Perhaps the best falafel in the city, including falafel with carmelized onions inside. Like most of downtown, parking is a nightmare but by foot is is easy. If it is good enough for the King (who frequents...More

Falafel and more falafel.. Most excellent falafel, busy place and the churn of customers swift and well managed. Welcoming, incredibly cheap and well worth the visit. Packed with people but nothing takes long at all.

Unless you eat at Hashem's, your visit to Amman is incomplete. Their falafel is finger-licking-good, and you get to experience of the Souq life. This should be on the list of every traveler!

It's a local place that our Jordanian guide took us to and would be a real bonus to international travelers! It has fantastic food - the best we had on our 15 day trip to Israel and Jordan. All vegetarian: three different kinds of hummus, stuffed and regular felafel, fresh tomatoes and onions, what we would call French fries.
