1st of all, ladies wear comfortable heels, you need to walk to get there cause there's no parking. 2nd, try not to have lunch the day you decide to try varouj, you wouldn't want to miss trying anything from the menu. Its a small place of 5 tables, family owned. Very cute. Don't think about what to order, just get... More

The address shown on TripAdvisor is wrong Street name is Maraash next to Royal cinema Bourj Hammoud. The phone number shown is correct. It is a tiny place maximum seating 20 people. The food is delicious from what we have tasted anywhere else. Delicious food with a variety of dishes. The chicken wings and drumsticks are succulent. Manta, itche, soujouk,... More

The owner, the chef, and the server are the same man with a special character. The food is Armenian, simple, and correct. Has only four small tables. The price is moderate. The surrounding area is a maze of crowded streets. Occasionally, few VIPs visit it for an escape while keeping low key.

The Varouji is a very small restaurant located in the armenian district of Beirut. The cook, who continues the family tradition, propose some lebanese classical foods plus armenian dishes. The lebanese entries - hummus, salads, spicy sauces - are average level. We ordered also birds, well cooked but pampered by a sauce too strong. The best plate was frogs, with... More

This is authentic armenian food without any make-up on. The food is very delicious, potato with coriander is one of a kind, the mante is great, eggs with soujouk is tasty, frogs and birds cooked to perfection, and chicken liver is my favorite in town. You better go there hungrey.

This is a must try restaurant in burj hammoud, little armenia. Run by a father and a son, who is the chef, this place offers yummy food, and some great delicacies like frog legs, birds... Etc, with a spicy twist. You will need to book in advance, to secure a table out of the 4 that are available. Beats any... More

Good luck trying to find this place. I suggest go with someone who knows where it is! But if you have adventured to Beirut for the first time, then why not adventure further into Bourj Hammoud to find this place! I'd heard about this place for over a decade as my dad always used to talk about 'Come Back Varouj'... More

Although finding the restaurant is not easy and despite their being no menu information or prices, it is well worth the effort to visit this amazing place. The food we ate was simply perfect and the overall cost much less than anticipated. You need to book and it is useful to have some knowledge of Armenian cooking so that you... More
