Near the end of my stay in Uruguay, my friend took me to this very fine restaurant. We both had Inaki, a hake did beautifully presented with flavorful vegetables. We shared an octopus appetizer and for dessert I certainly liked the peach gazpacho. Not inexpensive,...but about what I would expect for a comparable US restaurant.More
The food is locally sourced and the menu offers some items as full or half portions. I ordered a salad before my lamb, and wasn't expecting such a huge bowl of greens. I managed to finish most of it, along with the croquetas that accompanied...the bread basket. Loved the croquetas! The lamb was accompanied by very rich potatoes....very nice....as was the service.More
Nice setting next to the coast! Refined interior with linnen table clothing. Nice and professional staffing. The food was excellent!
And some of the dishes are a real discovery! Not that cheap but worth the money!
Yesterday , we went to our favorite restaurant in Punta Del este and although the menu normally does not change except for seasonal specialities ..we had a new fish entre ..that was worth talking about . It has a long name ...but in short it...was a rock fish in a BEET/rice risotto ...that was absolutely fantastic . I don't think I ever had such a good fish dish ....ever ! The restaurant is usually the best in town ...other little boutique restaurants open and close during the season that are wonderful ..but Lo de Tere is a stable 5 star restaurant ...with surprises up their sleeves ...More
Even during winter time this restaurant is open! it is a classic for Punta, the food is very good, I like the lamb chops or the fish of the day. Very good service, it is a family owned business and you can feel it. The...menu is on the short side, local food with a very good presentation and tasty .More
Had a day trip to Punte del Este from Montevideo. Our tour operator dropped us outside a pizzeria but we ventured further up the road to Lo de Tere.
Had a lovely table by the window, very attentive staff and a fabulous sea food risotto....I'll probably never be back to the country but I def recommend this place.More
