We went on a Friday evening around 7, hoping to have a meal and enjoy music. Unfortunately, neither of those things happened and I'm not really sure why - we were confused from the moment we walked into the cafe. When we entered, we got an oddly customized tour of the cafe including a brief history and even more strangely,... More

We went to Gaira on a business lunch. The place is well located and busy, service was quick and friendly. Being visitors one of the locals in our table order appetizers for us to share and they were all great. Especially the arepas con huevo. Overall great northern Colombian cuisine. The place offers live music and since it is owned... More

Always on the lookout for kids' events in Bogota, AND being big fans of Carlos Vives, among others, we first bought the Rafael Pombo CD. Rafael Pombo is the Mother Goose of Colombia, a 19th century poet who wrote amazing tales. Well, the CD is fantastic, with many of the best contemporary artists recording songs on it. This show is... We went there a week ago, we had high expectations that were not remotely met. Bad service all throughout, from the person in the entrance to the waitress who was moody and looked like she didnt feel like working. The food wasnt good, some plates were decent other just bad. I have never know a place who couldnt do a... More

Have in mind the place is mainly a party site than everything as has been like that for years in the nightlife of Bogota. I came just because the insistence of someone in our party looking for good Caribbean -colombian food and all was a failure. The service dull and bad, coming late, with no waiter/waitress assigned to our table.... More

Gaira is one of my favorite places to go with friends on a Friday or Saturday night! To do it right, it's best to make a dinner reservation around 7/8pm (make sure to specify dinner, or the reservation might be for standing/ dancing). Once you get a good table, enjoy dinner, start drinking your cocktails or getting bottles of aguardiente...... More

We visited Gaira for the first time on Thursday night with 6 friends, and what an amazing place. It will probably be my favourite place in the city of Bogota. The restaurant is themed, much like Andres Carne de Res, and consists of three levels (four, however the fourth seemed to be under construction). The restaurant has great music, an... More

This restaurant is owned by pop star Carlos Vives, and is like a Colombian Hard-Rock Cafe. The place is decorated with photos and souvenirs from Colombian singers and musicians, although the majority of these seem to relate to Carlos himself. The restaurant is not in a particularly central part of Bogota, but worth visiting. For tourists, it would give a... More
