We dined on a Saturday night at the seafood buffet. For 7900cpf franc ($90-100 AUD) this was well and truely a waste of money. We are an Australia couple staying in noumea for a week, and frequently go for dinners and have no problem spending this kind of money for a meal. The food was not up to the quality... More

We were previously unaware that the Meridian Hotel had such a great buffet 2-3 times weekly (i think Thursday , Friday & Sat nights .incredible selection of seafood , prawns , oysters , mussels , Pipi's, molluscs etc --sashimi etc--all very fresh & beautifully presented . Also lots of cold cuts , pasta , & wide selection of sweets ,... More

Overpriced, poor selection and seafood did not look fresh. Very disappointing for Le Meridien. Don't go!

Breakfast service is one of those simple, obvious standards by which you can judge a hotel. We have had breakfast at 5 different Le Meridens around the globe. Until now they've all been top class, and the breakfast buffet in Bangkok is the best that you could ever imagine. But Le Meridien Noumea just can't make the grade. Breakfast buffet... More

This restaurant is part of the Le Meridien hotel and during our stay we dined for breakfast and dinner including the seafood buffet. As Noumea is French my breakfast expectations were high. Alas, what a disappointment. Where is the fine yoghurt, great pastries, real juice and the aromatic coffee? The seafood buffet was an expensive disappointment. And I am not... More

A lot has been written about the seafood buffet, some negative, so we hesitated before going. Not everything in the buffet was great, but there were enough really good things to make it worthwhile. The oysters were excellent, the sashimi, the smoked fish, the octopus salad, the wahu in vanilla sauce all made for a great meal. The wine list... More

Wide selection of food, from sashimi tuna and salmon to grilled steak and eggs. You'd have to get there early as they always run out of food and take a long time to re-stock it.

Most hotel breakfast buffets in the South Pacific leave something to be desired. This buffet, however, is world class. There is a wide variety of offerings. From cheeses to fruits to pastries, everything is fresh and delicious. The hot items are also good although one would have liked more options for the fresh made items by the chef at the... More

We had the buffet dinner. Lots to choose from and execellent quality savoury dishes. Service was ok, room for improvement. The dishes werent cleared as quickly as some other buffets we've had. The desserts really let it down. Everything seemed to have sponge cake with the dessert. Not a huge amount of flavour and we werent wowed at all. All... More

We had dinner here twice while staying at the Chateau Royal resort next door. We had coconut marinated chicken and steak. Two plates of chicken were fine but the third was quite pink inside. Asked for well done steak, but it was blood red inside, cooked less than a medium. This was the case with most meat in New Caledonia,... More
