The first thing to know is that there 2 Maman Colonels (we went to Maman colonel 1) the place is a bit tricky and located in a very busy area full of bars. Iyvwas highly recommended by a local who told us this is THE place for chicken, indeed the chicken was great and much cheaper than the usual expat... More

Casual dining at its very best!! Seriously the best Chicken I have ever eaten. Wear bug spray, as everywhere else in Kinshasa, but go and go often. This place is not to be missed!!! Friends also had their fish (Capitaine) and felt it was superb.

I will say that if you can make it through that, you are in for a treat. On a number of visits to Kinshasa, this is the one place I can remember by name. I love... More

Chicken is delicious but I would suggest to also consider desserts as an essential part of the menu. When asked, the waiter said that despite this is a recurrent request from the customers, the cook seems reluctant in procuring the desserts for the restaurant (?). Lol.

Get the whole chicken if 2 people there as it is cheaper than buying 2 1/2 chickens. It is slow so be prepared to wait. Love the way... More

If you are living in Kinshasa, it means you have to go there cos "it' s the best chicken you could eat". To be honest, it's normal, nothing special and you have to wait too much time for eating.

Best chicken in Kinshasa. Visited with friends and the place is easy-going and really nice to start a friday night. Don't expect quick service.

If you are in Kinshasa, one of the place you need to make sure to visit is the famous Chez Maman Colonel restaurant. There are two of them: one in Bandal and one in Ma Campagne, either one will give you the same great experience. The place is not luxurious and does not look like a top notch fine dining... More
