Had Sunday brunch here. For USD 30, without alchohol, the brunch was excellent.! The variety of food served in the buffet was huge, especially the sea food. There was also delicious South East Asian, including Myanmar, Indian and continental cuisines. The desert section was brimming with all kids of delicacie. The choices were wide and varied. The Chefs were friendly and ready to explain what they had prepared when I enquired. The place was packed. Obviously, very popular with locals and expats. Over all, enjoyed eating here very much. Definitely worth going back again and again.

I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there many times. This time was for dinner and we had a pleasant time. It was busy but not as crowded as before probably due to reduced international travelers. Mostly up to expectation but chilled seafood, like shells were not as expected. Indian foods were interesting too.

I went a few times last year and I think it was better. Just a few days before this Chinese New Year I went again. My food was good. The waiter who gave me the menus never came back for my drinks order. After 15 minutes I got the attention of another waiter, who could not understand that I wanted wine . Eventually he understood and said why wiyyy, which was supposed to mean white wine. I said no, I wanted red wine ! Ok, I called another waitress who then took my order. More than 20 minutes to get a drink. My meal came on time. At 9 pm, the staff started to clear the tables away. 9 pm !!!! When there were still clients !! Very strange. I won’t be back.

Good selection of food, preferably for them to refresh the a la carte menu more regularly. Also good option for those who are looking for Halal.

We loved the breakfast, what a range of food from miso soup, edamame, Indian food, and the tastiest Mohinga. There was a great selection of teas as well.

Tried the buffet and also a couple of dishes at two occasions. All reasonable tastes, but nothing spectacular. The service, however, is all great, with very nice and friendly personnel.

Fresh juices, excellent muesli, solid South Indian cuisine from chef Ganesan. Delicious Burmese tea. Excellent front of the restaurant and table service as well. Though not the hugest restaurant physically, it is one of the best breakfasts I have had in Southeast Asia.

Cafe Sule (in the Shangri-La hotel) is still a very special restaurant in Yangon. After a hard day walking around Yangon, I treated myself to the amazing buffet dinner they serve every night. Fried Squid, Japanese sushi, mussels in black pepper sauce, river prawns, pasta, and fresh chilled salads are just some of the endless range of treats they offer during the night. A selection of more than 20 bite sized desserts will tempt even the most disciplined. Busy by 8 pm, the early diner gets the freshest and widest selection.selection.

It's a shame that this is the main restaurant in such a good hotel. It's very average. It really needs to be redecorated as its looking very dated. Can recommend the curries though, their Indian Chef (wish I knew his name) is very good and will happily make you a dosa or a fresh naan personally. They really need to work on the western selection though as it's pretty boring. And looking at the competition they have now (go see what Melia is doing food wise), they really need to up their game.

Stayed at Shangri-La and the breakfast buffet is amazing. It offers a variety of local, Western, Indian and Japanese options. Tourists can have a glimpse of Burmese cuisine from mohinga to the desserts. Very enjoyable in general.

I am back to write a review as I think in my whole week of dining here everyday for the breakfast and on most evenings, these people have made me feel so warm and at home and they go the extra mile. For one, I love all the food they offer especially the Bircher muesli with almond flakes. Then there is really the great taste of authentic Indian food by Chef Ganesan who is ever so hospitable. Staffs that I would like to thank for the generous smiles and service are Aye Thaw Chit, Phyo and Ngu Was. The manager that will go to ground level and any lengths to ensure this cafe is of standard is really Zar chi. One waiter by the name of Htet Ko even baby sitted my daughter while I was dining there. Thank you for the great food and amazing service!
