Enjoyed a farewell dinner here at the end of our Myanmar tour. Lovely setting outside the grand colonial building, beside the water.Geese and rabbits add a quirky touch! We had a set menu which was good. Interesting to experience a different style of food from other meals on the trip.

We only had a set lunch here as part of a tour but the food and service were excellent. The hotel has a garden that runs down to the shore of the lake and the building is beautifully decorated. We would have liked to return for dinner if we had had time.

The location ( by the lake ) is lovely , as is the building. However we ate in the Bistro , so though at the time of booking we asked for a lake view , we couldn't see it. Didn't help seemed to be some filming going on either , so we had the crew walking past us , then... More

As part of a business delegation, a dinner was organised for the group at Le Planteur. The building reminded me of a a typical old British type bungalow...very well maintained with gardens around and facing the lake. There are options of seating indoors and outdoors. We were a large group, so occupied the first floor which had tables for 10,... More

The grounds of this restaurant would probably take one's breath away first. The setting of an indoor/outdoor bar serving amazing cocktails perched on hill in a colonial building and then steps down to the dining area overlooking a large lake (complete with geese) is perfection if you hold dreams of an indochine evening with an extensive menu of food and... While the venue was beautiful, the food was terrible. The lamb was inedible and was sent back. The fried lobster was all breading and so over cooked. The fois gras was pretty good and the steaks were passable. For the price in Yangon, I would not return to this restaurant. There are so many better places for amazing food, maybe... More

Please keep your words and do not return. It was a shared disappointment serving you. It is a first experience for me in nearly 20 years of operation that I have to answer so straightly to a comment. More

Yes, this is beautiful place, right on a lake, with a tastefully lit boat right off shore. Gorgeous lighting, impeccable service. It feels like there are three staff for every diner. Mise-en-plat is artistic, plates are hot, despite what mist be a 100m+ trek to the kitchen. Wine list is unbelievable, given the country. The prices are also quite expensive,... More

For anyone visiting Yangon this restaurant is a must. We had heard about it from a friend and in a newspaper article both of which raved about the food and setting - we were not disappointed. We booked our table before we left Sydney to ensure that our group of 10 could be accommodated - the staff were extremely helpful... More

We went twice : once for lunch and once for dinner. Fabulous and tasteful experience. The food is perfection and incorporates local ingredients in the French way. It is a little expensive but well worth the money. Very classy ambience and beautiful decor. We sat in the garden next to the lake. They also have a great cheese selection which... More

You probably feel it once you enter the restaurant. The decoration and atmosphere brings you decades back. We were lucky that the weather was not that hot when we visited. I had chicken and it's really tasty while my colleague had beef and it's also very good.

WE HAVE MOVED TO 80 UNIVERSITY AVENUE. Le Planteur opens a new restaurant on Inya Lake, at 80 University Road. Le Planteur (Inya Lake) upgraded even more to the next standard of finesse in quality, standard and ambience!! And so, Le Planteur (Inya Lake) remains faithful to its concept, in a stunningly attractive venue!! It is an exciting and wonderful evolution and change for Le Planteur - but the things you and I love about Le Planteur have not changed. A new Chef arrived at Le Planteur! The team is proud to welcome Chef Gil Dumoulin who will be in charge of the fine dining restaurant.
