A reduced menu but they keep the food quality high, a good choice if you want good Korean food at a good price, in the basement of Ssamji-Gil.

Bibimbap was quite good but definitely not the best in seoul. Octopus pancake was definitely below my expectations. The octopus was tough and the pancake was too oily. In summary, average food for average price.

Free Wifi : yes Ban Chan : Excellent It was freezing cold & I decided to escape the cold by having an early dinner. TripAdvisor detected my location & flashed a teaser. I opened up & saw Gogung. What better than AV Hot stone Bimbimbap for cold weather? I suspect you cannot go very wrong with Bimbimbap. Especially with the... More

Nice place and very good food. It's not easy to find, because it's on the basement floor of the shopping center at Insadong, but the time to search makes sense. We needed the help of another client who was Korean and spokes English fluently to understand some recommendations from our waitress. - Un buen sitio con buena comida. Para encontrarlo... More

Being the most popular area in Seoul, sometimes it's hard to find the correct place to eat in Insadong. In this case, hard to find is literal, but worth the trouble. Gogung Insadong is located inside a small open market, approximately in the middle of Insadong street. If one enters the market on one's right hand, on the left end... More

In the heart of Insadong Street this restaurant makes a great stop to rest from your souvenir shopping. It is located in an alley with multiple shops and you need to go down the basement to find the restaurant next to a ceramics shop. We had the bibimbap and we shared a very tasty seafood pancake. Probably we ordered too... More

Downstairs off the Main road this clean, open restaurant has multiple fine looking options. We over ate with bip n bop, bulgogi and a seafood pancake- All terrific.

As others had mentioned, this place is hard to find! We saw a few signs on the wall of the complex and a kind stranger who saw me studying it explained that we needed to make our way to the lower level. We came for dinner on a week night with no reservations and the other 4 tables were also... More

Staying in Insadong

Neighbourhood Profile
Nestled between Jongno and Samcheongdong, this small neighborhood offers a crash course in various aspects of Korean culture. Rows of shops display traditional Korean goods such as pottery and earthenware, crafts, fans, and more, making it a popular spot for souvenir shopping. The Ssamziegil shopping complex in particular has become a local institution for its unique spiral layout and the many boutique shops inside that sell handmade crafts and goods. This is the perfect neighborhood to sample a range of Korean dishes, with vegetarian Korean temple cuisine restaurants being a popular draw, but street food carts are just as famous. As a top tourist destination, crowds can swell, particularly on weekends, but you can find some rest and respite in one of the private art galleries or grab a cup of Korean tea in a tea house – many of which are located in beautifully renovated traditional Korean homes.
