I understand the restaurant has good ratings and that's why I even tried it. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. > The Karvin Hotel and especially the Massala restaurant needs renovation. It is stuffy and the basement type location does not help at all. Its closed, old and rustic feel. > There was one staff member and he too was moving... More

I am indian and I can honestly say this was a massive disappointment. The food is bland, not served hot... BUT Warm. I came here as this restaurant had good reviews, however I feel that this is because most of the reviewers possibly haven't tried indian food before or understand the flavours of Indian food. BIG disappointment. The worst indian... More

Great service, delicious food, friendly atmosphere. The decorations are welcoming and the staff is accommodating. It's my favorite - and my friends' favorite - Indian food place in Cairo. Highly recommended.

A small nice and quiet restaurant with Indian decorations. The food was delicious (I didn't like their cheese much), the service was very good. A nice place for family but I think it serves best for a group of friends.

I like going there frequently. The restaurant is authentic, menu is rich and food quality and portions are very good. Service is also very good. you can also order your meal at the rooftop and/or drinks and they also serve shisha in a nice outdoor setting. Its a Heliopolis classic spot.

I enjoyed the food, the service was good, the place is not very fancy, the prices are ok. I would sure go again for lunch or dinner.

I have had nothing but problems from this hotel since living in their hotel a few months ago. Last night I ordered delivery from Masala and made it clear not spicy and when my food arrived 90 min later the delivery man was very rude to me and basically wanted a 50 LE tip which I refused and he called... I was about to lose hope in finding a decent Indian food in Cairo after trying two other Indian restaurants recently. But massala was much better the food was amazing full of spices and the service was quick and very polite staff.they need only to try to improve the atmosphere and improve the mango/yougurt mix. Prices were above average but... More

After reading your recommendations and reviews my wife and I decided to try something different to celebrate my birthday, so we went to Massala and The Karvin Hotel. The whole experience was a disaster. The ambience was awful, however we decided to take a chance expecting to be served great food. After waiting for over 1 hour we were served... More
