If you came to Cairo for the first time you defenitely should try it. For repeaters it may be not so exiting but still tasty.

Excellent presentation of traditional Egyptian food in authentic decor. The service is excellent and the staff are friendly and care about the presentation. It's a reflection of Cairo in the 50s & 60s. The molokhiya is excellent, the fish and lamb. You can't go wrong here. Even just for coffee, tea and dessert.

It is a small place that is must do when you go to Khan el khalili market. I personally love the mango juice and karkadi (local drink) there. Their shisha is also excellent. The staff is very fast and helpful. The food is also very good. What I love about this place is that it offers the spirit of Egyptian... More

Very good one! Two options, there are a snack bar and a restaurant. We ate at the snack bar and it was simply perfect. Nice food and even better the price.. most people were eating at the snack bar!!

I was there to enjoy a dinner. However, I was able to see one of the places that I will remember my whole life. Its history, the music, the atmosphere, the food. Everything was impresive.

We arrived there around 7 and were told the hotel charges a minimum of 150 egyptian pounds after 7:30 because they had entertainment after 7:30. The manager was nice but the wait staff were rude. The food was average. And the decor was a bit garish especially for a place associated with a nobel winning author.

Naguib Mahfouz was a great novelist, 1988 Literature Nobel Prize winner, that gives the name of this charming, well decorated and selected cafê in Khan Eĺ Khalili. Excellent place for a pause for a coffee, tea or eating during the visit of market and the prices are higher than the other cafés of the area but it is very worthy.... More

I've lived in Cairo for several years, and whenever I am at the Khan (which is often), I usually eat from some very local places outside near El Hussein Square. A friend had relatives visiting, and they wanted to eat here. I was taking them to the nearby Tanoura show, so we all went together. We were impressed right when... More

If you're looking for a traditional experience in Cairo, visit this cafe in the Old City and you'll be able to enjoy the great atmosphere, food and drink of a classic Egyptian cafe. It's a great place to relax and take in the sounds, especially in the evening when the traditional music and songs are performed.
