Excellent Italian-American food here. Absolute top quality food here and a superb selection of food as well. I think this place is more for ex-pats missing this type of food rather than place you'd seek out if you were on a week vacation. Some of the staff leave a little to be desired, but generally it’s a friendly restaurant. Staff... More

I went to Beijing for business in July and decided to go to the Mao Tse Tung's grave. I used the metro system and, despite it is very crowded, it is also very efficient. Unlike most of things in China, the metro is very well sinalized in English, which helps a lot foreigners. The metro covers a big part of... More

Very clean and well laid out. A bit crowded at times but there is no better and cheaper (about 30 cents takes you anywhere) way to get around Beijing. If you have ridden a subway in any large city like New York or London you will find that this one works on the same system except it is cleaner and... More

We used the metro to commute once in Beijing and were quite impressed. Our fears about language issues were allayed as we found that the route maps showed the stations in English too and we were able to get to our destination easily enough.

We went to Metro as a large family group as it was the favourite Beijing restaurant of one of the couples eating with us. We've had fantastic food whilst visiting Beijing so had high expectations. The food was pretty good but as a group of 11 we received our main courses at least 30 mins apart - in fact we... More

I just returned from Beijing and had dinner at the Metro Restaurant twice. I enjoyed it so much the first time that I had to return prior to returning to the States. They offer both inside and outside dining. We elected to dine outside both times and found it pleasing; however, the interior is well-deocorated. The pricing is moderate and... More

Metro has been providing solid, reasonably priced Italian food in Beijing for years. Its existence is a testament to its unfussy, friendly service and consistently enjoyable plates of pasta. It's not groundbreaking and it may not win many awards, but in a town of fly-by-night, overpriced, Philippe Starck-designed, gastrocrap Western restaurants, Metro is a deserved standout and a real home... Food is really nice. Mainly pasta. Not outstanding maybe, but absolutely fine, fresh and enjoyable. Came back here three consecutive evenings (was supposed to have dinner at the China Grill at the Park Hyatt but it was off limit and cordoned off due to the endless rehearsals for the 60th Anniversary, and really didn't fancy eating at Green T. House,... More
