Title pretty much says it all. This place is on the pricey side considering it’s just a plate of dumplings. Service is pretty poor- pretty difficult to get waitresses attention whilst she plays games on the table behind you. Although I suppose this level of...More

Following the good reviews on Tripadvisor, we visited Mr. Shi's Dumplings. The place is very small and clearly targets an international audience. They have a HUGE menu, which I personally did not enjoy, as you are basically responsible for choosing a good combination of ingredients...More

We went to this restaurant a couple of times and tried different dishes from the menu. We can confirm that everything we tried was delicious - cooked and fried dumplings, dessert dumplings, vegetable and meat dishes.

We have been there at the beginning of our Chinese trip. We were scared about food needs understanding, so we opted for a place where we was sure that english was spoken. The food was of ok, probably not the best we had in China,...More

We stayed close by fortunately so had the chance to eat there 3 times- and it wasnt enough. Am a dumpling freak and these were excellent with soft pliable skins that weren't gummy. Good ratio of filling to dough & so many options to choose...More

We lived just down the street from here and had dinner. Despite being in the Hutong area, we found the food mediocre and inauthentic. The store is trendy but the style of the food deviates from Beijing cuisine. Instead, we preferred Xian Lao Man on...More

Jiaozi in many varieties as well as some other Chinese dishes. Charming authentic service. Mr. Shi (老石) is around himself. He and his team seem to stick to their success model: ruthlessly overdeliver on food quality, keep prices and style of the place basic.

My tour guide brought us here because I said "dumplings." It's not fancy. There is literally a hole in the wall between the dining area and the kitchen. And if you can ignore that, you're in great shape. We had a starter that looked great...More

I have had dumplings all over Asia and these were easily the worst. We had both fried and steamed dumplings, both were tasteless. The fried dumplings had black stuff all over them from the pan maybe? The staff were not particularly friendly. Cannot give lower...More

On this Hutung(alley) in the Xidan district you find this popular tourist stop. No frills, no fancy nothing, just dumplings to satisfy any taste. I love the pork and scallion variety. Its not the cheapest dumplings in Beijing but its a fun place, so enjoy!!
