My friends have been to Mercante before and highly recommended; Now is definitely my favorite restaurant in Beijing! Food and service were absolutely amazing! We started with a burrata and prosciutto- culattello, with an incredible Nebiolo; then we had a parpadelle with duck ragu, ricotta-...More

Nice environment (like in a village), good selection of Italian wines, but poor quality of meals - all pastas we had were very plain. But these meals were still much better than service - we had to ask for bread, then remind them that we...More

A great Italian restaurant in the middle of a hutong north of the Forbidden City. Very generous serves and Chef (who has been cooking there for 6 years) really delivers Italian fare. A reasonable wine list including wines from France, Australia & Italy. Can be...More

Recently awarded by the Daily Meal as one of the 10 Best Italian Restaurant outside Italy, Mercante is devoted to offer home style traditional Italian food in a small alley of the historical center of Beijing. In a cozy trattoria with only ten tables we propose a variety of homemade fresh pasta (tagliatelle, pappardelle, ravioli, tortelloni), imported Italian cheeses and cured meats paired with our daily baked bread and a selection of genuine homemade desserts (panna cotta, tiramisu, semifreddo). For the wine lovers we carefully selected around 50 labels of Italian wines and more recently some Italian craft beers. At Mercante we cook the food we love. Walk-in welcome. Reservations recommended. Brunch Hours: Sat and Sun 12:00-16:00 (LO 15:00) Dinner Hours: Sun-Thu 18:00-24:00 (LO 22), Fri-Sat 18:00-24:30 (LO 22:30)
