My husband and I went here on Hogmanay and had a pleasant meal. My husband got a noodle pork dish and he really enjoyed that and I had beef satay which was just ok. But what I will say is the staff was an absolute credit to the place.

Food was so/so. Service nothing to rave about. A little pricey. Not sure will go back- better options around.

Went for lunch, very nice place and atmosphere. the peanut sauce is a must to try, really delicious and full of flavor! Had also a drink with coconut milk and a sweet syrup, amazing! Worth the visit!

Never disappointed every time I go to 1968. The food is of an exceptional standard and the service is first rate. The satays are a personal favourite!

One of the many eateries at L Place on Queens Road. This was a lunch for the juniors on the team. We all went for items on the set lunch menu. Each 'set' comes with a spicy salad, a drink and a main. The salad is punchy but tasty. The mains - see pictures - are not small. But everyone... More

The one thing I dislike most about this restaurant is getting to it. It's in a high rise loaded with restaurants (now common in Hong Kong). But the elevators are slow and the lines are long. Sometimes, it takes up to 15 minutes to get into a packed elevator just to go up 5 floors. Once into the restaurant though,... More

Still thinking about the lunch I had yesterday - really delicious, part of the set lunch it was a combo of fish, chicken and beef with rice and curried vegetables - infact I didn't need to eat any dinner it was so filling. Overall the lighting was a little dark for my liking but fortunately we got a window seat... More

Its a place to have the mouth watering Chicken/Prawn Curry during Lunch preferable or anytime during the day. The Lunch provided is wholesome with sufficient white rice & salad at a reasonable price with express delivery on the table or take away. Nice place to have a grub.

I visited 1968 with my brother law's. The food itself was tasty (though westernised I believe, as there was very little spice). Service was friendly and fast. In terms of value we ordered 4 dishes between 3 of us and it was adequate. Portions however were very small, with dishes comprising mainly 'sauce' rather than meat.

I have already bragged about this restaurant to many people, and will continue to do so relentlessly. Nice servers, great service, gorgeous ambiance and decoration, and fabulous Indonesian food. The beef rendang is to die for. I've eaten at several Indonesian restaurants in Hong Kong and this in my view is the the highest quality and most authentic in the... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
