Called in for dinner at this local restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful even with a slight language barrier. The food was served in a timely manner and the portions were very large and...More

Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you
will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong
Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong
Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma
Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on
their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area
makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in

Description
In 1995, as its doors opened deep in the heart of Kowloon city, no heads turned in such a bustling town. The aromas, the sounds and flavors, they were simply a commonplace thing the neighbors loved. To bring the native flavors of Hong Kong to the masses, in just over a decade, ten new locations came to life across the country. One by one, they welcomed a growing line of hungry diners. And despite this outward growth, the soul of the food still rested beneath the low hum of the same harbor town. With its original aim in mind, witness the distinctive flavor of Hong Kong’s local cuisine pulled back from the brink of vanishing, hoping to find a new generation of locals, and perhaps, those whose memories they thought lost to time. It calls them here, where beyond the aromas and the sounds and the flavors, the warmth between locals and travelers alike are a necessary ingredient of this place: a city whose identity is held together, piece by piece, by ~just another food stall.
