I have been to this restaurant a few times and always like it. The service is excellent. The quality of food great and the set lunches are really good value.

Low key Japanese restaurant along Elgin Street. Get one of the booths to sit in. Food was good; large portions of edaname, fresh salad and sushi. Attentive service.

Paid 340 HKD for six avocado maki uneven size and consistency, a portion of below par quality crab tempura, a reasonable shrimp tempura roll and a small beer. Generally price equates to quality but this is not the case. The "warning signs" of an all you can eat Monday (I wasn't there on Monday btw) should have put me off... More

Very good Japanese restaurant in SOHO. We've been here for lunch and we took lunch set which was delicious and affordable. If you want sushi or Japanese food definitely come here.

It has a cool vibe and music, but if compare the food with the price it's so so. The best thing is probably the Asahi being served in pints for 68HK$ still that about £5.5

Look, the food here is not perfect and there're probably better sushi places in the neighborhood but at HKD308 (not inclusive of tax) for unlimited sushi and sangria in the heart of pricey SOHO, you can't really complain or afford to be picky. I was here with a large group, we ordered a ton of food and jug after jug... More

Been here a few times and always thoroughly enjoy it. Reasonable value and great quality. I always eat at the counter to get the recommendations from the sushi chef but only really convenient to do if you are eating as a single or a couple. Any more and conversation is difficult. My only gripe is people smoking near the entrance... More

Have been here twice for the weekend buffet- all you can eat snacks (edaname, tofu), maki rolls, tempura, noodles, grilled dishes and dessert. Drinks (beer, sake sangria, soft drinks) are also free-flowing. The second time, the menu felt smaller- salads and pumpkin tempura have disappeared. My biggest problem with eating here is that although it is apparently a buffet, it... More

My husband and I have been to Taku several times. We keep going back for the fried chicken - it's delicious. We hve found the service to be friendly and the quality of food very good. Prices are comparable (in fact better) than some of the other restaurants in the Soho area.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
