I am needed to travel to Hong Kong once every quarter, and each time I am near Times Square. I will alway make an extra efforts to walk a bit more to this shop to try up the traditional herbal jelly. Cost me HKD 50 for a nice bowl, and really help to de-toxin myself after one big bowl.

This brand name is a long-established in HK. Its outlets are famous for its Chinese herbal jelly. It is trusted for its nutritional value of balancing body heat. It tastes a bit bitter like any Chinese herbs. For those who do not like bitter taste, sugar syrup is provided.

My body is of "heaty" nature and I have the tendency to get fever and sore throat if I don't cool down my body regularly. I find herbal jelly very effective in relieving the heatiness in my body so I consume on a regular basis. Moreover, I notice an improvement in my complexion too. When I was in Hong Kong... More

If you are into herbal teas and herbal jelly... this is the place. Well, I got a sweet tooth so it was a bit too bitter for my liking. There is also another chain of herbal jelly shops which is sweeter, called Hoi Tin Tong.

Always come here for a wind down dessert and chat, thinking that the turtle bell pudding doe yr health good helps you enjoy the slightly bitter jelly. Go late like 11pm when it's quieter.

Though Hong Kong may now have one of the most modernized skylines in the world, you can still see many old-fashioned herbal teashops all over Hong Kong on the street -- even if your eyes miss them -- you can still sense it with your nose by its distinctive, sometimes pungent, fragrance. Most of these shops sells four to six... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
