A small, local restaurant located back a side street, servicing Japanese style food which is clean, fresh and tasty. The food is of good quality, is small 4 to 5 piece servicing. Enough to take the hunger of but not enough to fill you up. The service is friendly and is reasonably prices. If you are in the area, drop... More

I went twice to Uohachi in my recent week long business stay in Hong Kong. You could easily miss it to walk past. On my first trip I was completely blown away by the food. The second trip was good too. The food was fresh. I had some sushi, some vegetables with spicy noodles, edamame beans and also some tempura... More

Had dinner with friends. Food was delish - we had salad, rolls, stuffed chicken wings, enokitake (enoki mushrooms), beef cubes, tempura, etc. They served us free desserts, mochi (pounded sticky rice) cakes. All were nice. Good value for money. Cosy environment.

We sat in the short 2nd floor (my shorter traveling companion felt tall). Fish was very good. Prices were reasonable. A great sushi/sashimi dinner.

I agree with the others. Cosy japanese place with great food at an affordable price. They have sushi, as well as set meals and a la carte.

I am surprise to find this nondescript restaurant on TA, after the visit of course. My hubby brought me to this Restuarant. The entrance is exactly like a typical restaurant in Japan. We went for early dinner without reservations. And we were led upstairs. The steps were exactly like the small eateries in Japan!! We had the set dinner for... More

I've been going to Uohachi as often as four times a week, and all my friends and colleagues I introduce to this place end up become regulars. The place is small but has a great atmosphere. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The set lunches are on average HK$50-65 and for that price you get your starter, main, rice, and... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
