I went with my colleague which lives in HK. He ordered assortments of local food and drink. I really recommend trying things out as the cuisine is very eclectic and mixes various things. For drinks, try the coke with the chocolate ice-cream, it is pretty good. Also taste the sprite with salty lemon, you will probably drink only 2 or... More

We found Loyal Dining after wandering around after just landing off of our long haul flight. My friend is vegetarian so it was a little hard for us to find something local that looked like it would work for her, and then we found Loyal Dining. We tried a few different dishes and we must have looked dry after our... More

I was somewhat surprised by some other reviews which rated this restaurant as over priced. Yes, it is on Wellington Street so was never going to be cheap but for the quality of the food, the service and ambience, I found it to represent very good value for money. Four of us ate here, choosing two different set menus and... More

The Dim Sum in the day is pretty good. However the dinner menu food is hardly fine cuisine, the portions are paltry and the prices are punching above the food's weight.

When we peered into the window of Loyal Dining we saw a bustling place packed full of Hong Kongese - a multitude of different nationalities all chatting and chomping away. We were immediately sold on Loyal Dining from then on in! We were greeted by the fab Emily Chan who is the front of house at Loyal Dining. Emily runs... More

We arrived at three so there were plenty of seats to be had and the restaurant was relatively quiet. Some afternoon tea set(Chinese selection) and ala carte dim sums. We tried the steamed rice rolls with charsiew, which was divine with the added cilantro that lifted the taste of the dish. The steamed chicken with fish maw was divine as the... More

Loyal Dining is a nice and lovely place in Wellington Street in the busy Central District, less than 10 walking minutes from Central MTR Station. The restaurant offers a nice and good selection of Chinese dishes (eg. Dim Sum) and Western dishes (eg. Club Sandwich) for an above the average price which is probably due to the very convenient location... More

This restaurant has a good selection of dim sum and fried dishes. We came here for lunch on a weekend. The dim sum is of good quality. We had the shrimp dumplings, bbq pork bun, steam pork ribs. All were very good and up to the standards of traditional dim sum restaurants. We also had the fried shrimp and egg... More

200m from LKF, we visited Loyal Dining a few times over our trip. Derived from an "East meets West" concept, this is HK classic dining "infused with the unique history and traditions of HK" (extract from the menu)... Food & service each time was excellent. Diverse and well-considered menu, The Loyal flat fried noodels with sliced beef in sweet soya... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
