I went there in nov/ dec. Like some complaints, I agreed Service was slow and had to get attentions of servers and food menu is limited. I had the Wan Tan noodle soup and the dumplings had too much fatty meats to my likings and the broth didn't fare any better. I didn't even bother with deserts or coffee. Seems... More

Took a late lunch here today. Was seated immediately - partly due to the duty manager recognising me who happened to be in the vicinity. I can highly recommend the lobster bisque and the Mandarin Club Sandwich. Very tasty and very filling. It was difficult to get the attention of the waitress for drinks and the bill but continuing endeavours... More

We used it often for breakfast and on occasion for lunch. Never disappointing. Services professional and attentive. Food quality excellent. One can buy well-made sandwiches and take it on the road.

We ate breakfast here every day of our stay at the Mandarin Oriental. It was exceptional. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The pastries were delicious. We did not have a single item that was a disappointment. The selection of teas is even wonderful. Upon our arrival from an overseas flight at 10am, they hotel treated us to breakfast here... More

I just had a quick lunch at Cafe Causette in Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I waited for 10 minutes and received no service at all. I finally got a waitress and order a Laksa. The food did come very quickly. However, the food was a total disappointment. The temperature of the food was lukewarm. It tasted like some rice noodle in... More

One of our rooms was not ready so we were offered a free meal here while waiting. The service was very good. Both of my boys had steaks and they were prepared very well and they ate every bite! My fish and chips were good and my husband enjoyed his salmon dish. the bread was yummy and we all had... More

The food is excellent and right up there with Mandarin Oriental standards, however my only issue is that some of the tables are too close to others to allow for private conversations. Whether you go for breakfast, which is outstanding, or lunch, choose your table carefully. It is possible to pre-book tables, and request where they are located, but it... More

Dear Stewart A, Thank you for visiting Café Causette recently and for your feedback. I was happy to read that you were satisfied with our food, however, I was disappointed to learn that you did not enjoy your seating arrangements. I am afraid this is due to the building limitations of the area. We hope that it will not affect... More

This is a lovely cafe situated in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Breakfast delicious (especially the porridge) Supper equally scruffy - sample the steamed cod!

A nice place, needs a bit of touches to soften it in the evening when it can feel soulless. The reception staff can be more friendly. The food is good and reliable. I like to drop by for lunch or dinner when I am in a hurry and do not want a fussy place. Reliable.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
