We went on a Sunday night which was a very busy night. Luckily we booked a table and just wait for a few minutes before we sat down. It's a restaurant that you have to wait even you booked a table. The Chiu chow goose with liver and the pan fried oyster omelette are so delicious. The crab dumpling also... More

Apart from fried oyster, the rest of the dishes are quite new to me. Nice balance of meat and vegetables.

Although situated near Kennedy Town, opposite Belchers Towers, this Chiu Chow Restauarnat does not get many western visitors. The new MTR exit for HK University is also just outside, and along Belchers Road, but limited English signage, just 4 shop fronts and lots of queueing customers. Incredibly popular, just ask for English menu and point to the local fish, goose,... More

Not until the MTR service of Sai Wan extension commenced, had this ageing area of Sai Wan be populated with chill western restaurants lately; but Tak Kee still attracted customers in the local market. Choi Chou food might not be the hottest Chinese cuisine among foreigners, since there is all sorts of bones, organs, and even blood cubes in their... More

This is a very family-style eatery of the Chinese Chiu Chow style. Prices are reasonable, serving sizes are great, and tastes are good. The service is only so-so, but you pay what you get. If the food is all you want, not the service, then this one is certainly very good and is worth a try.

The food is pretty good, especially the deep fried oyster pancakes, braised duck/goose, fish and soups. They have lunch specials, lunch sets and dinner sets which are good value for money. Service is decent for a traditional restaurant with the waiters attentive. Tips: 1. Those taking MTR can drop off from HKU. Restaurant is diagonally across the road from Exit... More

I ate at this restaurant more than 10 years ago and so was looking forward to visiting it again to try some more chiu chou cuisine. I was hoping to write about the lovely braised goose, the nice lap cheong fried rice and the filling oyster omelette but unfortunately something happened that will live longer in the memory than the... Chiu Chou (Chaozhou) is a city in the eastern side of Guangdong province. Some of the famous food are braised goose, salt-baked fish, and crab. I like the pepper pork belly soup. It's spicy and a bit sour because there're tons of pepper and some pickled mustard stalks in the soup. The pan-fried noodle with sugar and vinegar is a... More

We dined here for a dinner. The food was quite good made, like the fish, or anything else in Chiu Chow style, but the portions aren't big. The service however was terrible. They firstly forgotten our fish, and somehow bumped at all of us and tried to tell us to move in as the person is too fat. The environment... More

If never try it, it's good to try. The food is good but it seems the quality is not maintained well.
