Cozy restaurant on busy Staunton Street serving good Argentinian beef. The manager is quite bossy and off putting.

I hadn't been to La Pampa for a number of years, largely as a result of an explosion in quality steak places in Hong Kong. I visited with an old friend, visiting from London, with whom I use to dine at La Pampa 10 years ago. Pleasingly, like all good steak places, the menu hasn't changed at all. Look there... More

Had a very good tenderloin skewer, medium rare, cooked perfectly. Seriously great quality meat- almost melt in your mouth. This is a small place, so best to book, but this makes for a good atmosphere. Wines were very good. Staff were attentive, particularly the owner. I'll definitely visit again when I'm back in Hong Kong.

Had a dinner with my family there. Looks like no care at all. What we have ordered was missed. What we didn't order was served. Waiter left us without listening the order to a end. Finally the big guy - waiter or owner? - started to clean up the table while we still seated at it and turned the glass... More

La Pampa has been a favorite of mine for nearly 18 years. My first visit was a couple of months after they opened and have returned every time I am in Hong Kong. Many Argentinian restaurants, outside of Argentina, use American or Australian beef, and it is simply not the same as Argentine grass fed. I know La Pampa’s beef... More

This place was good but not amazing. The service was efficient, but could have been more welcoming. Steaks come with a side order and a 250gram tenderloin was HK$328. The flavour was good, the medium-rare was perfect but the medium was undercooked and very close to the medium-rare. The total for two was HK$830 with drinks, 10% service charge is... More

We met up with a friend that lives in Hong Kong and she suggested we visit La Pampa and she promised we would enjoy it. She was right. It's a small and intimate restaurant so it was pleasant and quiet and allowed us the opportunity to have a great conversation while enjoying a very good steak dinner. Everyone in our... More

I've been to La Pampa three times and never been disappointed by the steak. So you need to go with that in mind. Being in Staunton Street makes it pretty difficult to get to unless you're familiar with the area. Taxi drivers will take you to the door, however, be prepared to act like a mountain goat if you have... More

Visited during Hong Kong 7's with a bunch of friends. Had a fantastic tenderloin (large). The steak was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks I've had in Asia. Great service followed by a visit from a roving Elvis impersonator!

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
