Was recommended this place by a friend. We were lucky to have gotten a place without reservation. We ordered their speciality - Peking duck. It was nice. However, I was most impressed with service rendered to us. We were served by a senior male waiter (dressed in white )who was prompt despite the crowd. He was attentive and spoke to... More

I have been coming to Spring Deer for 18 years now. Without a doubt the best Peking duck in all of Hong Kong. Either show up at 6 pm when it opens or make a reservation. It can take a week to get one.

We went to this restaurant on our first night in HK, it was just a few minutes walk from our hotel and although reviews recommend reserving a table we took a chance and went early for dinner, just after 6.30pm. The restaurant was fully booked but the manager said he could fit us in if we could finish dinner within... More

This is an old school Beijing restaurant located in TST east, the antiquity of this restaurant is matched by the aging waiters. Accustomed to visitors, they speak Japanese, Mandarin and English with ease. This restaurant is famous for the peking duck and shark fin (not for the faint hearted...)

There is a reason why Spring Deer has been around so long. They have perfected Peking Duck...from the perfectly crisp skin to the perfectly flavored sauce to the perfectly textured bread. There's no better place. And that's why there is always a short wait to get a table...many, many customer. What's sad though is one tends not to try the... More

I came here for my Peking duck fix and wasn't disappointed. We arrived early (6pm) because of prior reservations. The restuarant fills up quickly even on Monday night. All we had was the Peking duck so I can't really comment on the rest of the menu. The service was good and our dinner with 4 large beers was US$70.

Its name has been changed to Spring Deer now but still the same great food and service. Please try the Peking Duck its just the best.... More

Thought we would trust the people of travel TripAdvisor tonight and they didn't disappoint. We didn't book so was lucky to get in. Shown to there only empty table. We were the only table not to be Chinese. The Peking duck was really good. Cheapest beer in Kowloon to always a bonus. If your looking for a good quality food... More

This was my first visit-came with friends who made a reservation. We ordered family style. It is the best way to try many different menu options. Everything we ordered was hot, delicious and served by very friendly staff. The staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. The Peking Duck is hands down, the BEST in town!

This place is apparently so popular that its usually difficult to get in without a reservation! Lucky for us therefore that we wandered in off the street (admittedly about 8.30 on a Sunday evening) and they were able to accommodate us. The exterior is nothing fancy but don't be put off. The food is amazing. My only reservation would be... More
