I went there with friends and was great to find a western style bar with good service (staff can speak good English) the band is fantastic, nice decor, atmosphere and of course beer! The only thing to improve is the food. I'll definitely be back.

First of all it's busy enough to be a good restaurant. Food is bwaaah - nothing special to remember. And the atmosphere is a copy cat off a little bit Germany. But it is never in the neighbourhood. So yes you can eat here and you are not alone what is also interesting when you are on a business trip... More

Didn't eat here, so I can't speak to the food, but it looked like standard, quality German fare. The beer is pretty good (we had the Dunkel- smooth and nice), though a serious beer drinker may find the selection lacking compared to modern microbreweries. Anyway, the main draw here in the serene rooftop, which we had all to ourselves on... More

Ordered the Vienna Schnitzel. It came with a very dry and wavy schnitzel which I soon realized was probably deep fried and not pan fried, it was very dry and not very tasty. the dish came with chips/pommes frites and that was it. Would have been better with some vegetables. The beer by contrast could not be faulted, it was... More

I've been to Paulaner here in Nanjing a few times with friends, and while I've always had a decent enough time, I find the entire place to feel entirely too much like a 'tourist trap' aimed at luring in local Chinese people wanting to feel like they're getting an authentic western experience. The food is of decent quality, but pricey... More

I really disliked this place. It was ridiculously loud with a private 10 year olds party. The food was not very nice either. I won't be going back during my 3 year stay in Nanjing.

I eat there 3 to 4 times a week, keeps me away from always eating at the hotel! Huge place, service is reasonably good and the beer is cold and tasty. Band could improve as for a place big like this, they could do lots better with a better band.

We didnt eat here just went for drinks. but we got more than that., the band was absolutely fabulous - one of the singers was little out there but so talented and entertaining. We were a couple of older aussies and they made us very welcome. the drinks were good, cold and reasonably priced. it was very busy. but if... More
