This restaurant was quite hard to reach for me since my hotel was in Glodok, but taking a 1,5 hour taxi ride in a bustling Jakarta during rush hours to get here was well worth. Atmosphere was great and quite relaxed, stuff was friendly and helpful. I had here one of the best Asians soups I have ever tried, and... More

Loved this place back in 2009 and it has managed to keep its charm. The bistro style allows you to pop in whenever and be able to get some good food of solid quality and fair pricing. Staff is well trained always in a good mood and having drinks here is good fun. For high-priced Indonesia - the drinks are... More

It's been around for some years now, but it's still as good as it was five years ago, when I was last there. The bar staff and serving crew are fun and funky and cocktails and drinks are good. Menu has not changed (or does not seem to have) but its still 'OK'. Its definitely not 'fine dining', but for... More

This place used to be my favorite in Jakarta, until I discovered J. Sparrows just next door. The reason is the service. The service is much better at J. Sparrow. Loewy is great, but I think they can do better and show more attention to their guests.

Was there for dinner and we were ordered escargot, steak, cheese fondue, pavlova and 3 types of chocolate cakes. The steak was very tasty and good. The escargot was too dry and disappointing. As for the cheese fondue, it was average. Same for the desserts. Would we go back there again? Maybe to try out other dishes.

The idea to establish Loewy was a spontaneous one: that there is a need in Jakarta for a casual bistro – an everyday place with an interesting but accessible menu, a well-designed but informal décor, and adding to the mix: a buzzing, energetic bar serving the best, stiffest drinks in town. The inspiration came from traditional Parisian bistros by way of New York City. The style of the interior is retro/classic with a modern interpretation. The original Thonet chairs, the leather banquet seats, the subway beveled tiles, the tin and copper ceiling panels, the white brick walls; evoking this “Paris bistro meets New York loft in the 1940’s feel. It is then combined with a modern layout and concept, creating an overall ambience that is uncluttered, clean, understated, and timeless.
