Shanghai Blue is a Chinese and other Asian restaurant in Central Jakarta. It serves a range of Chinese dishes but supplements them with Indonesian and Thai options. The cool vibe is great as are the surroundings but the food and service are only average. The vibe is the main appeal of the place. The design contains plenty of paintings and... More

First time to visit this restaurant. The ambience really really chinese. They setup traditional with table and chairs. I love the ambience. Okay lets i review the food first. I order Crab with Lychee, Ngo Hiang, Crab Fried Rice, Kailan Vegetables, Tahu Telor and etc (forget the name). Overall the food is delicious even it is halal restaurant. But this... More

Rather hard to find, since the restaurant sign is rather hidden by trees. But once you walk inside, they'll bring you back to old times in shanghai. Really like the interior and the ambience. The food is average and at reasonable price

Very nice restaurant with amazing interior - a real time travel experience to old Shanghai. Food was great, prices reasonable but service a little inattentive on a slow night but you didn't mind because of the pleasant atmosphere.

We went to Shanghai Blue because the sister restaurant Samarra is under renovation, so the satay specialty menu of Samarra is served in Shanghai Blue. On a Sunday night when we were there, the place was deserted - service was only for two tables. Ambiance, typical of the Tugu Group, was striking. Another thing that was striking is the very... This place was near to my customer's office. They recommended the place. Quite a good selection of dim sums and dishes, cooked in Indonesia style. Do try the satay, which is nicely done. We also ordered the steam fish. Very different from teochew or cantonese style. The fish was de-boned and served whole. Interesting way of cooking, with clams too.... More

Hidden in a corner of a junction in Sabang area, this restaurant is definitely one of the best in the area. The building is a 1920 built compound, the interior reserved some of the original decoration (which looks really old and historical) and some new "fusion" pieces. For a Malaysian Chinese born as me, it is kind of pseudo-Chinese, but... More

I would like to say that I'm not impressed with the food as the taste just average. We ordered Roast Duck, but this one is the best one like we thought. I know some other restaurant served best roast duck with good quality. Even my partner said the taste of the food just so-so. We will not come back. One... More
