I was taken to this place by a Singapore business associate. We ordered a number of different dishes. The food was very good, but really - no better than any of the other hawker stall meals I had while in Singapore. Makes me wonder how...they deserve a Michelin star. Don't get me wrong - I'd go there again. Good food and good prices, but I just don't see what all the fuss is about.More

Heard that it taste good but I was kinda disappointed because in my opinion, it was quite standard. The rice was very sweet because of the sauce and I really can’t eat it. The chicken was quite good but again nothing special.

Definitely a known place so the expectations are high. I thought the chicken was delicious. Definitely juicy and well balanced with sauce and vegetables, rice, and beans. Price is very reasonable. There was no like when we got there and there was seating in air...conditioned area.More

Visited Hawker Chan many times , really like it so much. Simple meal and never get disappointed with the food quality. Usually I do not finish my food, however the noodle we order is so tasty, I finish whole plate without realizing .

My wife and I had lunch at Hawker Chan Chinatown in Singapore, we had eaten at one in Australia previously & it was advertising one Michelin star, so we thought it was safe to eat there, the staff were rude, you could see they didn’t...want to be there! You had to ask for a napkin & that was like pulling teeth to get, most of the food was bland & luke warm at best, the chicken had like blood veiny stuff through it, we left most of it! The fried Wontons were quite good, they were freshly cooked, Hot & nice. Overall not quite what we were expecting from a one Michelin star restaurant? One MICHELIN Star is awarded to restaurants using top quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavours are prepared to a consistently high standard. We lucked out and got right in at noon on a Sunday. I’m not too familiar with Indonesian food, but we got the chicken & rice and roast pork with noodles and both were delicious.

Chinatown was great fun. Went to this place based on all the fuss about their past Michelin star. Inexplicable to us how they ever got this. Panda Express has better food. My chicken was all bone. Big disappointment. But yes, very cheap.

Ordered soy sauce chicken noodle. The noodle was average, but the chicken was super, very tender and moist. If you have a bigger appetite, the $4 serving would not be enough for you.

This restaurant is in Chinatown and is clean and fresh looking. The service was friendly and good. There are a range of dishes available at reasonable prices. The vegetables were tasty and nicely done.

Liao Fan Hawker Chan was the first hawker stand to earn a Michelin Star in 2016. This location that we visited on Smith Street is just across from the original stand with air conditioning and ample seating. I was excited to not be in the...humidity inside the hawker center but we did go across the way to check it out. As we got into line, it moved quickly. We ordered two of the soy sauce chicken and rice plates along with a Tiger beer. It literally is the cheapest Michelin starred meal you can try in the world. I know they lost their star a few years ago, but the recipe is the same so I’m not going to nitpick. We were given a number and we went to find seating at a nearby table. Our number was called, so I went to collect the food. You’re given the tray but it’s up to you to collect the utensils, chili sauce, pickled jalapenos, and napkins, etc. We dug in. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The chili sauce was fire! I liked it a lot. Was it as good as they say? It was good but not great. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the Tian Tian Hainanese chicken and rice we had at the Maxwell hawker center but it was still good. I’m partial to Hainanese chicken and rice versus the soy sauce version so that’s where I am biased. I have to say, while the place was busy, it was run efficiently and it was clean. I know they got crazy with the expansions and franchises but I hope they concentrate on the quality of the food moving forward. I’m glad we got to try this spot. If you’re in Singapore, this place is a must try for chicken lovers.More

They received a Michelin star in 2016, for their Soya Sauce Chicken Rice dish. Meanwhile they lost the star, but we went anyway. Small dish and they don't take out the bones, so if you are unlucky (like me) you get more bones than chicken....And the taste? Mediocre at best.More

Read about it and had a top chef we use tell us about it, not sure if it is myth, but goes along the lines of the first/only street food seller to have been awarded a Michelin star… We had to give it a go,...for street food it is excellent and an experience, you can not help but be impressed. However, not sure it is any better thanh the plethora of other stalls in the vicinity and various Hawker centres. As for the Michelin star, not sure how it ever got this or if it is real. Great story though.More

Heard about Hawker Chan’s restaurant and had to give it a go. What a mistake that was!! In my opinion, they are resting on their laurels from yesteryear when they still had a Michelin star but now it’s dreadful. The chicken fried rice they were...renowned for was the worst I’ve tasted. Chicken was fatty and greasy, skin still on, with the bones still in and only just cooked, in fact it was all just luke warm. We also ordered dumplings as a side order but they took another 5 minutes to come when we were half way through eating. For those who don’t know this restaurant, it is self serve so when they call your number,it is up to you to collect from the servery… not what you want while eating. As for the restrooms, yuck. Located right next to the pot wash and only one cubicle each for male and female. We will not return. P.S the drinks were nice and cold which was a plus.More

Very disappointing for a place that used to have a Michelin star. It won’t qualify for one on the meals we had. Both mains were cold and the chicken undercooked. Vegetables and dumplings were a bit better. Also, little or no atmosphere. Not recommended.

It's been the most disgusting chicken I've ever tried. Full of bones, not cooked at all and blood coming out from it. After I tried the first bite, I left the rest as I didn't feel hungry anymore. Michelin Star? I DOUBT IT. See the...picture below.More
