Not only the food is very good but the place is fantastic to enjoy a nice brunch with children. We came with 7 children from 3 to 9 and after pasta and pizza, they enjoyed the indoor and outdoor plays. It would have been even better with swimwear as there is a small Swimming pool. The place is also very... More

Reviews online were good but every dish was disappointing and extremely overpriced, especially the soups. Basic pizzas and pastas were hard to even swallow

Have always liked the food here. The fiorentino beef and burrata and prosciutto are to die for. But decided to try something different tonight and we were not disappointed. Tried the warm blue crab and prawns with avocado. Yums! My son has the prosciutto pizza and a meat spaghetti. Excellent and also dente. Tried the ocean sea bass for 2... More

We decided to order the fiorentina steak and the whole family all gave it a thumbs up ! Michael was our server and was very attentive throughout. He even presented my son a surprise birthday cake ! Will certainly be coming back very soon to try the pasta next.

Was there with family, the boss took our order and money and didn't find us a table. After much waiting there was finally an empty table and we sat down. Only to be chased out by the boss, saying inside air-conditioned seats were only for reservations. (There wasn't any reservations to begin with!) So we asked to be seated outside... More

Dear Jonathan, I am glad that everything had already been sorted out between yourself and the owner of La Barca face-to-face soon after the incident you refer to above. However after speaking with the senior management team of La Barca, we feel that we should also clarify the situation exactly as it happened from our end. On the day you... More

We purposely chose to come here for dinner and celebrate a friend's birthday. And so the cake was meant as a surprise. Not only did they want to charge a $5 corkage per person, they also obviously RUINED the surprise by coming to the table to announce about the corkage. Turns out birthday boy says he won't be coming back... More

Description
Hidden away in Katong, La Barca Ristorante & Wine Bar is a stunning restaurant set within the spacious grounds of the Goodman Arts Centre. ‘La Barca’ – the Italian word for ‘boat,’ was so named due to the shape of the site that it is situated on. We serve classic Tuscan fare with a modern twist, and an emphasis on fresh flavours and stylish presentation.

Being quietly tucked away, we offer a unique calm and serenity absent from restaurants in the city. Thus, we find ourselves excellent host for business lunches or those heart to heart with close friends.

However, we are not all business. Come weekends, we transform ourselves into a family friendly restaurant boasting a Kids’ Playroom, a bouncy castle, inflatable water slides and even a trampoline. A welcoming outdoor wooden deck, makes it a popular choice for children’s parties or just for taking in the tranquility.

La Barca is helmed by Executive Chef Michele Sorrentino. Michele graduated from hotel school in 1979 and has worked as a professional chef ever since. In 1992 he opened Antica Trattoria Botteganova, which was listed in Frommer’s guide’s ‘Top Ten Restaurants of Italy’ from 2000 to 2008. In 1999, Chef Michele received his Michelin star which he maintained throughout the lifetime of his restaurant. Over the years he has received numerous awards and favourable reviews in the international press and has appeared regularly on Italian TV. Having been at the top of his game in Italy for over 25 years, Michele is continuing his innovation here at La Barca.
