Wasnt impressed by anything in this restaurant expect for the name since it has the word 'magic' in it... I wasnt expecting plates of colourful unicorn meats being served... But the presence of low quality frozen meat is far too disappointing. As if the food was disappointing... The service was far worse... We only ordered 1 round of ingredients and... More

Went over to this restaurant in dec 16, the service is average, the food is average & the prawn is fresh & pork belly is chewy & dessert is nice. Not attentive towards the end of our dinner especially when we wanted to order last few dish. There is a time limit to have the dinner buffet due to crowd.... More

Dear Lovetravel Thank you for your comments, the two hour limit is only limited to the weekends as the manager needs tables for turnover, but on the weekdays we do not practice this and customers are welcomed to dine without time limit. We thank you again and hope to see you in the near future. More

Came back to chongqing hot pot since my last visit about 5-10 years ago to relive my childhood memories because we remembered it to be good then. Restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived at 7pm. It was a ala carte buffet style dinner. Food was served per set initially and you can return any dishes you do not want.... More

Did not read thru the reviews in Tripadvisor nor HungryGoWhere, but heard great reviews from friends that went there last year. But it turned out into a major disappointment when we went yesterday; unfriendly staff/manager, slow response, food was definitely overrated and not worth the price, no background music.. I will definitely not go back for their steamboat again. There's... More

Decided to try out this place after reading some recommendations. Came with high expectations but was utterly disappointed. The service was rather poor. The manager who was working there didn't even write down our orders for the dishes and the wrong dishes and different quantities were served to us. The restaurant also leaves its edamame that's served as an appetizer... More

I have to agree with the previous reviewer totally. Went on a Friday dinner, waited all the way till 8.45 for a reservation. Could have imagine the high regards and degree of expectation from this place, considering that it's fully booked all the way till then. There seem to be a shortage of staff because of the long waiting time... More

We have eaten here before and the experience was good and thus when the craving for steamboat came about, it is a no surprise that we made a booking to eat at this restaurant again. This place is one of my preferred choices when I have a craving for mala hotpot. In fact it's my 2nd choice, right after Hai di Lao. My family and myself have been visiting this Hotpot shop since its early days in Suntec City. Pricing is reasonable and food selection is great. The mala is really 'Shiok' and the beef slices are of good quality. Seafood pieces are fresh.

Description
The magic of Chongqing Hot Pot is the first restaurant in Singapore to serve authentic "mala" Hot Pot in Singapore. It has served many Singaporeans, Local and foreign celebrities as well as many foreign tourist and our local Japanese population. With 21 Years of history, The magic of Chongqing Hot Pot serves all food fresh and is one of the remaining all-you-can eat buffet restaurants that serve food to the table when ordered, this assures that all food is fresh and also reduces wastage. The "Mala" Broth is authentic as much of the ingredients used are imported from Szechuan Chongqing Province. This allows customers to experience the Szechuan food and atmosphere without travelling to China. They also have a variety of other soups like their Signature White Chicken Soup made from pure chicken meat and bones without preservatives like MSG. This is to ensure that we are MSG free and therefore customers are eating healthy when they dine in the magic if Chongqing Hot Pot. This is in line with our Eat Healthy policy practised in the restaurant. Another recommended soup is our shark fin cartilage soup made from pure shark fin cartilage which is good as a dietary supplement and is said to be good to prevent cancer and acts as a immune booster.
